I'm at a loss with this.  I've tried to figure it out on my own before asking here, but I just can't seem to understand it.  I understand that it says that the article must have multiple pages to  show the read more link.  But, I've looked at the default articles in the siteshaper and they don't have multiple pages.  I've made exact copies of the default articles and the copies don't show a read more button.

Please help, I'd really like to get these modules working as designed.

Hello, when creating an article you can create a read more link on the buttons at the bottom of the editor. As long as  you put your article on more than one page the read more will automatically show, as long as you have the read more button set to show in the module's backend.

Also, you must also have some text after your read more link in the article, Joomla will remove the read more if no text is present afterwards.

That's really odd.  I tried using the "read more" button on the editor and I swear it didn't work before.  It's working now, so all is good.  Thanks for your help.
