hi, I have two questions

I recently uploaded the emma smooth temp, and the main menu isn't showing. I understand by default it doesn't show up, i found that info in google somehow.  In the tutorial it said under 'advanced parameters'  the style suffix should be set to list.  where is advanced parameters?  For some reason i cannot locate it.

the second part is i have a twitter module, and I set it to 'left' and it dissappeared into thin air.  Can we only set mods on 'right'?

i'll add a third part, everyone should check out google right now LOL

Hello,

1. Are you referring to the drop down menu at the top of the page or a column menu? The main drop down menu is chosen in the template configuration screen.

2. This template does not have a left position, please see:

i'm talking about the stacked menu, not the horizontal menu at the very top.

If I wanted a left position, would that require modification of some sort?

oh well I guess the inset position is essentially the 'left' module, or at least it gives the effect i want. I will put a rotating banner there.  But it now looks like a tornado went through my main content area lol.  It appears to have jumbled everything.  i'm using the sobi2 city directory system. hmm

ok i'm played with the body width of the template, and it seamed to have fixed the jumbledness.  I guess my only problem now is getting that menu on the right side to appear.

oh, how wide  is too wide for a website?  I made it wider to fix the order of the content. I have a really big monitor, so any size looks good to me.

Hello,

A tutorial for setting up the column menu is found here:

http://www.shape5.com/demo/emma_smooth/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=36&Itemid=113

The advanced parameters is found on the right side of the screen when editing the module in the backend of Joomla.

Width is a bit of a question anymore, most people are using widescreen now, which wasn't the case a year or two ago. I personally don't make sites wider than 1000px.
