This is an awesome menu and one of the reasons we are always renewing our membership.

ISSUE - We simply can't get the parent item link to work.

We have:
? Searched the forums and tried what we found.
? Checked the "Enable or Disable First Level Parent Hyperlinks?" to enable.
? Disabled / Enabled Mootools Plugin Uprade

Php 5.2.x / Joomla 1.5.20

It is a rocket theme template (sorry).

You can view the fail here:
http://97.74.202.239/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=93&Itemid=176 (left hand menu)

Parent Link just closes the children menu. I can pm admin login credentials if needed.

Thanks,

Jakexo

Strangely I got one of the Parent links on a side menu on this page:

http://97.74.202.239/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=103&Itemid=168

I didn't do anything except create a new menu item. When I did the same thing for the item below it, that one wouldn't work. Completely random?

Just wanted to make sure you received the FTP info I sent in PM the other day. If not, let me know and I can resend.

Thanks,

Jake

Hi Jonah,

Got your reply and found a clue that may help.

If the parent link is one word = link works!
If the parent link is two words = link just closes sub-menu items or if no children open, does nothing

I did the whole Plugin disable / enable process one-by-one with no changes in function. The site is a Rocket Theme template (sorry) with their Gantry Framework. It's on J 1.5.20 with Php 5.

I know you guys are one of the best clubs out there and hopefully my test findings from above will help others (and RT users). Honestly, your templates and extensions are great, but your support is just as great which is why we're heading into our 3rd with you guys!

Take care,

Jake

Quick Fix:

For now I simply added   between any two worded parent menu item. If there are no spaces it will work.

The Real Fix:
This is above my programming skills to pinpoint the root cause!

Hmm thats odd I don't understand why, check out the demo here I enabled the parent links and they work even with the "S5 Menu" text:

http://www.shape5.com/demo/get_reserved/

Either way glad you came to a solution Smiley

Thank you so much for that information.   Smiley

I couldn't get the parent link to work until I saw your solution.  I am also using a Rocket Theme template  with the Gantry Framework, so that may be the cause of it.
