Hi folks,

First of all, thanks to Shape5 for the fantastic Joomla templates!

I am using the Touch of Soul template and need the BEST recommendations for the following modules:

1. An online store module:  Is Virtuemart the best store solution?

2. An online calendar system module where the administration can login and add events that appear in the blocks on the calendar...kind of like a wall calendar.

3. Photo gallery module where the administration can set up photo categories and upload photos to the correct category, etc.

Thank you very much for your input and recommendations!  Wink

Hello,

1. I personally like Virtuemart and have never had an issue with it.

2. I am not sure I have on to recommend but I would suggest looking on extensions.joomla.org and reading the reviews of different calendar components. There are some very good ones out there.

3. Same as above.

Thanks for the info Mike!  Is there a way to make my Virtuemart store somewhat look like my Touch of Soul look?

Also, when I attempt to install Virtuemart, I get the following error:

"Error! Could not find an XML setup file in the package."

Could you advise why this is doing this?  The Virtuemart file is:  VirtueMart_1.1.5-COMPLETE_PACKAGE.j15

Thanks for your assistance.

Hello,

Please refer to virtuemart.net's forum for installation of their component. I believe the complete package needs to be extracted first because the zip file contains several install files inside of it.

Thanks again Mike.  I'll take a look.

Also, could you please advise why there is a "Login" and "Register" area at the top of the Touch of Soul template?  I'm not sure what this is for.

Hello,

That is if you want members to login to any member section of your site or to register on your site. There is a tutorial for these located here:

Thanks again Mike!  I'll look into this.

As I mentioned before, is there a way to make VirtueMart have the look and feel of of the Touch of Soul template?  I'm just trying to make it all blend together well.

Thanks again!

Hello,

I am sorry but that would require some custom css. All of our templates will work with virtuemart, but only certain ones have been stylized around the component itself. Doing this requires a custom VM theme.
