Hmm.. can't delete this.... I should have searched better for my answer first!  I downloaded the help file from here :
and it appears to be working fine!  Please disregard the request below.

Thanks for the great, if I can only figure out how to work with it! (This is my first experience with Joomla, so I might be a little lost.)

I did a local installation.  I installed xampp and I succesfully made a sample joomla site., so I thought I'd go for the gold.  I downloaded the  site shaper for Touch of Soul and installed it according to the tutorial.  During the installation, I got the following warnings:

Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in I:\xampp\xampp\htdocs\fumc\libraries\pattemplate\patTemplate.php on line 1424

Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in I:\xampp\xampp\htdocs\fumc\libraries\pattemplate\patErrorManager.php on line 202

The article, section, category,  manager, components, extensions, etc. all give me warnings, along the lines of:

Warning: Parameter 1 to JHTMLGrid::access() expected to be a reference, value given in I:\xampp\xampp\htdocs\fumc\libraries\joomla\html\html.php on line 87

I tried deleting the installation and reinstalling it, but I still get the errors.  I know I've probably done something stupid,  but can you help me?
