Stage;
I have a FUSION child theme. Also I have a functions.php file inside. Within this I have added this functions.php

Code:
function favicon_link() {
    echo '<link rel="shortcut icon" type="image/png" href="http://www.mywebpage.com/casa/wp-content/themes/s5_fusion/favicon.png" />' . "\n";
}
add_action('wp_head', 'favicon_link');

Everything so far is just perfect, now I have my new favicon.

Gol;
Delete this line

Code:
<link href="http://www.mywebpage.com/casa/wp-content/themes/s5_fusion/s5.ico" rel="shortcut icon" type="image/x-icon" />

Question;
1. I'm doing? this in the right way
2. So what is the correct way to do it.
3. Delete that line. Could be made from funcion.php, adding a code like "remove_action"
2. If possible, then what it is.

Thank.

The favicon code is in index.php.  If you just remove that one line of code from the file, your new favicon code should start working.  You could also just edit the line of code in the header of index.php and have it point at the new file instead of adding a php call.

Hi Tristan,

That sounds good, but what about an update, when you send an update to this theme, for some reason.

This update will change the index.php, I would not want to be with these changes every time.

Sub-theme in WordPress, appeared to quell this type of problem, but maybe I'm not taking into account your work.

Tell me, if I edit the index.php without using a child theme and function.php into this, I will have no problem in future updates of this theme.

All updates currently need to be downloaded & applied manually, so you won't have to worry about accidentally replacing the favicon and not knowing.

If there is an update that you feel you need, it will be quick & easy to change that single line of code in the index.php when you upload the newer version of the theme.
