Hi,
I know how to create a custom HTML mod and assign it to a main menu item but how can I do this for an article?  The menu item type is URL so it doesn't allow me to choose an article.
I've published the article to front page but it doesnt appear in the right menu position. How can I choose which main menu item to assign my article to?
Thanks.

Hello,

You create a new menu item and then make the type to be an article layout.  Then you can select which article is assigned to this menu item in the right side parameters area.

Hi
I'm sorry maybe I wasnt clear enough in my post. I know how to assign articles to menu items but I can't see how to assign articles to the various positions on the main page eg the #bottom_row_area1 or #top row2 area1 or any of the other positions.

Similary is it possible to have a mod appear in the left position on more than one of the main page positions. I tried putting an random image mod on more than one position but it would only appear once on the main page.

Ah ok, The only one that will show with Joomla articles is below as seen on the demo:

http://www.shape5.com/demo/appwonder/#s5_center_area1

You'll notice the following will show you all the module positions where you can publish modules to in each area, this is how we constructed the demo.  You can get modules that will pull articles like our s5 spotlight news which you could then assign to one of these modules:
