Closing the chat widow brings up this error: Can't move focus to the control because it is invisible, not enabled, or of a type that does not accept the focus.

I tried both j1.0 and j1.5 verions, both report the same error, and while they accurately monitor my online status, I don't receive the incoming chat?

Any ideas?

What browser are you using? IE has occassionally been throwing an error on close but the code is valid, IE just doesn't understand it.

GRRR!
IE has occasionally been throwing an error on close but the code is valid, IE just doesn't understand it.

Not to sound ungrateful for the exceptionally fast reply, but IE "just not understanding it" is stating the obvious, nor does it alleviate my concerns of every getting this module to work. There is an error code being thrown up. The script may be "valid" but it is not working with IE7 and it is not occasional but on every close. So if it is a bug with IE, it can't just be dismissed. Huh

Firefox is cool and all that good stuff, but like it or not IE has the lion's share of users. An error code in IE is akin to flippin' the bird at 85% to 95% of my visitors.

I am sure your site stats show a whole lot more Firefox users visiting you, because most are likely developers and designers.
My site is visited primarily by IE users, and everything must work 100% for them Embarrassed

I will do my best to solve this issue, but I might have to rescind my congrats on the implementation of your idea of a chat module. It is good in theory, but does not function. And to release a module that causes script errors, even for free, without the warning of "Problems with IE" is kind of disheartening from such an awesome group of programmers.

If I find any clues on how to fix the issue I will post the links and relavent info in this thread.

Hi,

In your modules folder you'll see another folder called s5_habla_chat. Can you replace the file in there called habla.js with the one attached here and let me know if that works for you. I tested it here with this script and haven't seen any errors in IE. Be sure to over-write the current one and you may need to deleted your cache.

As for the messges not coming through, even with the error message the messages will still come through. If they're still not coming can you please post a url?

You Rock!!
I will give it a try later, I think the messages not coming through are on the setup of the jabber client and Hab.la settings.

This is my first experience with a jabber client and I am sure I don't have it dialed in. I am getting my GoogleTalk and AIM through the jabber. Just not the site to Hab.la. to my jabber

I even posted the HTML from Hab.la into a module and still did not recieve any chats, so that issue is on my end without a doubt.
I will try the new script later today and post the result, and hopefully mark this as solved. Wink

Thanks again mike,

Hi, there's no known errors in IE with this module. The above script replaced the default script in the module a few weeks ago.
