Hi,

Just wondering if there is an estimated time for updating SiteShaper to work with Joomla 1.7?

Alternatively, will it work if I simply follow the tutorial and try and install it for Joomla 1.5?  Any idea what changes I will need to make?

I'm reasonably skilled at programming.

Thanks,

Steve

Hello,

There is no ETA on the 1.7 site shaper. Virtuemart 2.0 is still in beta and it will need to be tested before we create the site shaper.

Since VM2.0 is out of beta is there a timeline set for 1.7 template yet?

Hello,

I am sorry we cannot release ETA's on the conversion statuses. A VM theme has much more than a regular theme to be converted and will take longer.

Hi Mike,

I just wanted to thank you for working on this, and also express that we have a need for this too.

Regretfully as we have finally lined up Authorize.net, etc. for our on-line offering, I find that we need to upgrade both our eShopper based site both to Joomla 1.7x and also the Virtumart within it to 2.0.0.

I have looked at the upgrade instructions for both, and well, let's put it this way.... Life is too short. (I'd like to get this done before my grandchildren retire and go on SSI).

So I have resigned myself to just rebuilding the entire site from soup-to-nuts using the newer 1.7 and 2.0 versions. But now I see that the 1.7 site shaper is not available for eShopper (and yes I can see why this would take longer) and so on, so we are back to square #1 as it were.

Anyway, thanks again for working on this, and I will be checking daily to see if it's available as we are pretty anxious at this pint to finally get our store on-line.

J2.5 Site Shaper Pending

Hi,

I know you can't provide a timeline on when the new Site Shaper will come out for this template, but we are chomping-at-the-bit like crazy waiting for this.

Worse yet - We have our gateway merchant established (and charging us a minimum monthly fee), but I don't see the logic in hooking this up before upgrading both Virtumart and Joomla to the newest versions, etc. etc. etc. So we've decided to do the total rebuild, which will very likely take less time than it would to upgrade everything.... but.

I guess what we really need to know here is... will the J2.5 Site Shaper for this template take until 2013 to come out? Or will it be out do you suppose (rough guess) before the fall? Mid-summer? Any sort of ball park here? Best guess?

Thanks!

Hello,

I'm sorry, there's no way to give an ETA on this. The transition from VM 1.19 to 2.0 is a very complicated process, more complicated than the 1.5 to 2.5 joomla conversion. Many of the VM files are in need of being re-written.

I've tried to install the joomla 1.5 site shaper. But, the virtuemart doesn't work with a message that I need to upgrade the virtuemart.
Do you have any help about that?

Hello,

Virtuemart will not require an upgrade, it is simply recommending one. You can still use the site shaper with it's installed virtumeart with no issues.
