Hi,

I installed the Appwonder demo using the SiteShaper yesterday and have been playing with it for a while now, but I can't seem to find how to edit some basic things so I thought I'd just ask.

1. I'm interested in keeping the site very much like to demo, but I can't find where I can edit the Overview, Screenshots etc content on the frontpage. I'd also like to remove the Latest news page from the frontpage.

2. How can I change the Contact us to send an email to my chosen address?

3. I intsalled all the reccomended plugins but couldn't automatically install S5box for some reason (says that the link doesn't exist). Can I do it manually and is it even necesarry.

Thank you,
Sander

Hi,

1. I'm interested in keeping the site very much like to demo, but I can't find where I can edit the Overview, Screenshots etc content on the frontpage. I'd also like to remove the Latest news page from the frontpage.

The "Latest News" area is the blog/posts content and can be disabled in the theme options.  All other content is generated using widgets.  You can add "?tp=1" to the url to see the position names.

2. How can I change the Contact us to send an email to my chosen address?

The contact form is a widget as well, just change the widget settgins to whatever you need them to be.

3. I intsalled all the reccomended plugins but couldn't automatically install S5box for some reason (says that the link doesn't exist). Can I do it manually and is it even necesarry.

If you think you need S5 Box, you can download it from the club downloads area & manually install it from the "upload" tab of the plugin installation admin page.  If it wasn't installed by the shaper, then it's not necessary to add it.  The "recommended" list is just a few plugins that I've found useful and thought that members might benefit from.

Thanks a lot! The ?tp=1 suggestion really helped things along.

But I still have a few small problems:

1. Can't seem to find where to change the page descibtion that currently reads "Appwonder on mysite.com"? How can I get rid of that Appwonder part.

2. Regarding the Latest News section. I've disabled the content and hidden all the menus and other widgets on that page, but the section still wont totally go away with a small blue empty section still remaining. How can I get rid of that?

3. Also can I change the backgroung patterns on on the frontpage in addition to their color? I'd like to switch the bottomrow2 and bottomrow3 contents to make the last page the Contact Us section, but Id like to keepo both pages looking the same. Maybe there is a quicker way to do this.

4. Lastly concerning editing the contact widget. Could you tell me where exactly I have to enter my recieving email aadress because the way I did it not it just say Thank you and then send to a this page does not exist white screen. Clearly I've done something wrong.

But I still have a few small problems:

1. Can't seem to find where to change the page descibtion that currently reads "Appwonder on mysite.com"? How can I get rid of that Appwonder part.

The page description pulls the current page/post title and injects it before "on {sitename}".  You can change that by changing the name of the top post or by assigning a new "home" page in the site settings.

2. Regarding the Latest News section. I've disabled the content and hidden all the menus and other widgets on that page, but the section still wont totally go away with a small blue empty section still remaining. How can I get rid of that?

I would have to look at your site to see what is happening.  Can you provide a URL?

3. Also can I change the backgroung patterns on on the frontpage in addition to their color? I'd like to switch the bottomrow2 and bottomrow3 contents to make the last page the Contact Us section, but Id like to keepo both pages looking the same. Maybe there is a quicker way to do this.

I may be misunderstanding what you want to do, but you can switch the content of those positions by just dragging the widgets from 1 section to the other and doing the reverse for any widgets that need to go the other direction.

4. Lastly concerning editing the contact widget. Could you tell me where exactly I have to enter my recieving email aadress because the way I did it not it just say Thank you and then send to a this page does not exist white screen. Clearly I've done something wrong.

The recipient e-mail setting is controlled on the widget admin page, just expand the position that contains the widget & edit the widget settings there.

Thanks again!

2. The url I've installed the theme is 88goals.com/epl. I triple checked that all the widgets should be disabled, but still the part wont collapse.

3. If I just switch the widgets then the background color and texture will be different from what it is now for those pages. Ok, it's easy to change the color, but how can I change the background pattern/texture so it would be the same as for the current Contact Us part? It's not that important tho, was just wondering if it possible.

If you can PM me FTP and login information, I'll be glad to take a look and figure out why it's not hiding correctly.

As for changing the background images/patterns -
If you use Firebug, you should be able to find the CSS that applies those background images; once you've done that, just copy it to the end of the styles.css file and make whatever adjustments you need.

I'm not quite sure why your site is having that issue.  I double checked all the places that could be responsible for keeping that section rendered, and they all gave results that should have disabled it.

I ended up adding a check in the code that disables that section if it's on the home page, so if for some reason you need that area back in the future, just remove the "&& !is_home()" from line 383 of {themedir}/photofolio/template.php (the line right after "<!-- Center area -->").
