Enclosed is a screenshot that shows the basic problem.

How can I make the title of the Spotlight News article open like a menu article?

Thanks.

Hello,

That is a feature of Joomla 1.6+. It will always show modules on the same page after clicking any read more. The only way around that is to a create a menu item that points to the same content category as your articles. And on that new menu item don't publish any modules. Again, this a Joomla setting, creating the menu item is the only way around it.

Exactly! Joomla 1.5 did this by default, it had me scratching my head for a while until I figured out you needed to create a menu item.

I have to say, that worked perfectly for me as well (using Sports Nation Template)!  I am on this site a lot looking for answers, and you always have them.

Thank you

Hello,

Make sure the article is assigned to a Category and Menu Item so it has a separate alias to display on a new page.

Hello,

The menu doesn't have to be published on the front end. It only has to have the category assigned to it in the back end so it can generate the alias' for all the articles in that category.
