Hello there!

After a year of successful blogging I decided to upgrade to a very nice theme "bridge of hope".
But I'm having all kinds of problems. I'm not a big computer expert so I hope any help you can give can be in easy to understand language:)
Many things that worked on my other wordpress blog don't work all of a sudden.

*In the visual editor, when I try to get a empty line between paragraphs, it doesn't do anything after posting it. It's just one big blob of text.
*As said by someone else in a different topic I can't add a image either. I could do it by making a "images" folder in my website root.
But I just want it to work the way it is supposed to work!

*When I embed a vimeo video the text doesn't go around the video.

Why is everything working differently than on my other wordpress blog which is exactly the same version!

Hope you can help me:)

1. URL?

2. I may need to ask for FTP and/or login information, you should probably create a new account for each so I don't have your primary access info.

3. Are there any newer releases you'd be happy with? Some of the older ones have minor javascript issues because of they way they had to be programmed - those conflicts are solved in the newest releases.

Hello Tristan!

Thanks for your fast reply.

I thought it might be the template, so I switch to another one. Everything is fine now and setup!
There is only one little things that I can't seem to figure out.

Where do I change the names on the S5 Accordian menu? I looked everywhere.
Here's a screenshot to show what I mean

Accordion menu doesn't currently use the WP3+ custom menu system, it will display all pages on your site in the order/structure that you define in the "pages" area of the admin. I am planning on completely rebuilding that plugin soon, but I'm currently working on getting the Vertex Framework ready for release on WordPress so the club can offer much better themes in the future. Once that is ready to go, I will be making a lot of updates to the plugins that are out, as well as releasing new ones.

Allright,

No worries! The page structure will do fine! Just didn't know how to edit it but got it now!
I just remember one last problem i'm having!

the picture slider at the top is not working. And as I'm not very familiar with this code, I don't want to mess it all up.
Can you tell me how to get this picture slider at the top work?

Thanks for all your help!

This is the code of the slider (I think)

Code:

The easiest way to fix that is to remove the text widget containing that slider code & just place the actual slider widget. When setting up the demos I usually just copy/paste the fader code from the Joomla demo if the content doesn't need to be changed (It's just faster that way), but for a live site, it is best to use the actual widget. You should find that the settings for the widget are fairly easy to change, rather than trying to edit code.

Hey Tristan,

Your answer sounds very and easy! I just can't find any slider widget in the widget directory. What should be the name the this widget?

If I have more questions in the future, should I just continue posting in this thread or PM you?

Thanks man, appreciate all the help!

The changes I suggested would be done through the "Appearance->Widgets" page in WP Admin. If you're looking in the plugins folder, you're in the wrong place.

If you installed the Site Shaper, you'll have the Image and Content widget available to you.

Yes, I installed SiteShaper, but I don't have the widget you are talking about.
Can I add it later? Or can I find it somewhere in the site shaper downloaded file?

I don't mind just editing the code. Except that it's not working properly!

EDIT: Couldn't find it in the site shaper folder on my pc, but found a downloadable plugin from shape5.com!

So I have the widget now, but It doesn't do any fading. It just shows all images below each other.
I've been struggling with this for over two days now. Any change you could log in on my site and take a look?
I'll PM you the login details.

If you PM me login details I'll take a look. There is probably a Javascript conflict somewhere. The fader runs on Mootools, and can very easily break if you have any jQuery on your site. I am hoping to update soon with a jQuery version of it, but there's no guaranteed time frame for that yet.

I'm having a problem with the widgets not working. Looks like its the same java issue as others have had. Is there a way to get this to work? It won't drag and drop new widgets and also won't open to edit widgets/

Download the latest version of the theme and replace "{themefolder}/s5_admin/vertex/main.php" with the file from the download.
