I'm using pages for my main navigational menu including 3 sub-pages for one of the main items.  The menu seems to indicate that there are three subpages under the main menu heading by having the drop down box large enough to accommodate the 3 items , but the text for these subpages does not show.   This dropdown area does get smaller or larger depending on if I remove or add submenu pages.  I have seen similar discussions for this issue in the Joomla forum, but the options there seems to be update Joomla or the template..

To see this for yourself, go to the under construction site at http://66.147.244.131/~jjcourtc/ .  The menu option in question is "About J&J".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Have you selected the correct menu from the "Menu Locations" drop down on the left of the edit menu screen in the admin?

That was the problem I had when I was testing.  When you first set up the theme, or if you rename the folder and have to re-activate it, there will be no menu selected for the "Main Menu" position.

Tristan.  Thank you.  I had forgotten about that drop down on the admin menu screen when I moved the system from my in-house test box to the host site.

The submenu items now appear, but this causes a side effect that I noticed in my test environment.  For the active menu item (i.e. the one that I just clicked on)  the button is no longer set to the highlight color as it had done when I was using purely Page navigation (i.e. no custom menus set up).  Any thoughts there?  Thanks.

Thanks for pointing that out.  I just fixed that issue in Simplex (which will be released in a few days), and haven't had a chance to change the download to use the updated menu walker.  I'll do that right now so I don't forget.  I'll update this post when the new files are uploaded.

If you've already made changes to the theme, the only files you'll need to overwrite will be the ones in "/vertex/flex_menu", which you most likely haven't had to edit.

EDIT:  Both the theme and the shaper have been re-uploaded with the bugfix.  You should be able to download the new version now without any issues.
