Part of my job is branding and another part is updating social media. The "t" icon in the upper right of "New Vision" which is being used as the "Twitter" link is actually the t from Tumblr's logo, which also serves as their icon. I suppose it is understandable to confuse the two but they are certainly not interchangeable. This should be fixed or at least noted for people intending to use these icons.

Note: I'm not just going around nitpicking Shape 5 stuff, I am now using this template (it's great) and I simply felt the need to inform.

Hello,

Thank you for pointing this out. I have updated the downloads with a different icon.

Would there be an easy way to add a linkedin icon in the same icon bar? Just wondering.

Hello,

You would need to add custom coding to add an additional social icon. You could swap out the image files with another however if you aren't needing a specific one.

Oh yes, good idea! I might give that a go instead as it seems like an easy quick fix Smiley

Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi,

I tried adding Linkedin icon.

Here is what I did .....Template.css...Line 315

#s5_linkedin {
height:23px;
width:22px;
background:url(../images/linkedin.png) no-repeat top left;
cursor:pointer;
margin-left:1px;
float:right;

and Line 361
#s5_linkedin:hover {
background:url(../images/linkedin.png) no-repeat bottom left;
}

But the icon does not show...moreover I went under the template manager...under template manager or css how can I add link so that the icon directs to linkedin page.

Please assist.

Thanks,
GR

Hello,

You need to add a reference in the index, css, and xml files to add a new social icon. We do not provide custom coding support for things like this. If you do a search in each of these files you can see the existing coding.

Hello,

The developers only include icons for those that have a backend field to add a URL redirect. If you want more icons you can find them on Google with the "icon" search tool. You can also just copy the image files for any icons you need out of other templates and resize them to your needs.
