I am not sure if this is template specific problem but I've had this problem before with another Shpae5 theme wherein I always had to add </br> every time I needed an extra line BUT as soon as I switch to Visual editor and save it, it deletes all my manually inserted </br> .argggh!

This is becoming a simple but frustrating problem in formatting. My clients just gives up on updating their site just because of this since they do not want to deal with using the text version of the editor.

Thanks in advance gain Smiley

You'll need to disable "Raw HTML Mode" in the theme options.  I had to add the ability to disable the automatic formatting that WP normally does, because it was breaking the validation of the demo content when it adds the extra "p" tags and line breaks.

(Also, you should be using "
", not "</br>"; that might be part of the problem.)

Breaking the validation of the demo content ? The site I'm working on is almost done and just adding new content and I just want to make sure I do not need to redo all of this if I disable "RAW HTML Mode." Will it break my pages/posts content if I do?

Raw HTML mode just disables the WP functions that add <p> tags around paragraphs, as well as a few other "small" automatic adjustments to post HTML.

I believe that the functions it disables don't act on the content until it's pulled from the database for display on the front end, so you should be able to disable it and take a look at the site without worrying about problems if you decide to re-enable it.

One thing you could do to be extra safe would be to export a backup of your content (WP Admin -> Tools ->Export), and then just import it if anything goes wrong.

Thanks Tristan. I will do the backup now before I do any changes tonight. I'll let you know what happens.

So I have disabled the "RAW HTML" in the theme but I still can NOT create line spacing with any of my formats, page or post, using Visual or Text/HTML. Every time I add a line in visual, all it does is add a <div></div> in the code but it does not really add any extra line. It does look correct when you view it on the Visual mode but the actual saved page/post will ignore all spacing.

And yes, I am using
to manually add line spacing but if I switch to Visual mode and save it, it will remove all the

If you can please address this issue, it will help a lot my clients and get back on updating their blogs again. Most of them dont know HTML to be using the Text/HTML mode. This is an issue I've had since last year with all Shape5 themes but never had the chance to address it.

For your usual support.

If this has been an ongoing issue, why have you not posted about it previously?  I will need to know which themes you are having problems with, and it would be good to have a link to a site where I can see what is happening.
