Hello,

So I've run into some issues on the Mobile version of the website.
www.homelifepartners.com

It's supposed to show with a black background and simple layout, but initially it showed without the css.  The Show Me PC Version button wasn't working either, just refreshed the page.

I tried to turn off and turn on the enable mobile button, but that resulted in the mobile version not showing at all.  it now only takes me to the PC version.  .json file says enabled for the option.

Things I tried changing: I changed the sign in button to link to another website on the layout php doc.
I also tried changing the mobile css, but things failed to change despite changing code. so I replaced the edited file with the original file.

As I haven't found a good 'firebug' type program for mobile devices, I have little capability to find out exactly went wrong, so if one of you can help me that would be great.

Thanks so much,

This template does not have show me pc version, etc in it because its not responsive.  Its a Vertex template but not a responsive one so it doesnt have the mobile features that responsive ones do

Hello Jonah,

I find this very confusing, as the Vertex back end has always had the option of "show me PC version" since when I downloaded this template.  If this feature doesn't come with, then why is it there, and why is the Simplex advertised as to have Vertex framework but doesn't specify what attributes it does not have due to being a different version of Vertex?

I have to say that I am disappointed to find this out after purchasing the Simplex template despite of it being advertised simply as "having vertex framework" but not specifying what parts of vertex it does not have such as responsiveness.

As for the mobile site, is that another feature that somehow is no longer guaranteed in this version of the Vertex Framework?  Or should the mobile site technically be working?

If the mobile site should technically be operable, then please tell me why it only shows the PC version of the website on my smart phone, is this possibly a server issue?

Oh wait Im sorry you are correct it should have a show pc version I forgot the non-responsive Vertex templates did have this.  When I viewed your site the mobile version didn't show at all, do you have it enabled in the admin?

Hey homelife,

It's actually an issue with the browser itself, not the template. The newest version of Opera is not properly rendering certain javascripts, specifically mootools, which is used throughout Joomla. You can read more about it from here:

http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla/tracker/?action=TrackerItemEdit&tracker_item_id=28804

Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done until Opera releases an update for their browser.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the reply,
I'm using the default browser on my android device, I haven't changed it to Opera.  Have you tried to view the website on multiple mobile devices?

Hello,

I tested your site on my phone and it does appear the Show Me PC Version is not working. Have you made any custom modifications that would have affected this? I tested my version of the site from a stock version and it appears to be working.

Attached is the default settings for your reference. Since jonahh has your info I forwarded him your reply.

Hi mike,

My settings are as follows:

Enabled   ON
Show Menu Links   First Level links only
Menu Text   Menu
Show Login   On
Show Resiter   Off
PC Version Text   Show me the PC Version

I did change the Login, had it link to another website in the mobile_device_layout.php in Vertex folder, but I did try to paste the old code back after finding that things changed days later, but that did not seem to revert the issue back.

Are you seeing the mobile version on your smart phone?  On my smartphone, it's going straight to the PC version.

Ok, I deleted cookies and cache several times, now I finally see the mobile version, but it's missing CSS defined in the mobile_device.css file in the CSS folder as well as the ability to go to PC version.

I changed the backend login yesterday, which I will send to you via pm.
