please help... I am getting differences on my site in different browsers.

Everything works fine in Firefox but when I call up the site in either explorer or safari on a mac, I get little boxes with re x's in them above images I have placed in module positions. In Fireboard forum the differences are more profound. I get question marks in boxes in Safari and x's in explorer.

Is this the fault of the template or something I have done wrong? Is there a fix for this compatibility issue?

Hi, the X's are do to missing pictures on your modules. Either the pictures aren't at the location your code is saying it is at or your server is timing out. The site did take close 2 minutes to fully load so I wouldn't doubt if your server is having load issues.

hi Thanks for responding but I cant see how to fix the problem with that info.

As I said before, the x's only appear in explorer and safari I havent added any other graphics.

The x's and ? marks are very consisten but not in firefox, only explorer and safari.

Is there somewhere else I should be looking to sort this out? Or is it the template?

Your help is greatly appreciated and urgently requested

The reason why the X's are showing is because it is trying to load pictures that don't exist but are being called in your code for the modules. Whenever a picture doesn't exist at a specified url but is being called in the code an X is put in it's place. The reason why Firefox doesn't show it is because that browser simply doesn't put the X image there, it just simply shows nothing.

Here's an example. Above your image that says Welcome to our new site! It is trying to load the following image at the following url:

http://permaculture.com.au/web/www/web/images/banners/PDC.Minibanner.jpg

The picture doesn't exist at that image so browsers like Safari and IE show the X while Firefox just doesn't show anything. You'll need to edit that module and remove that image. To find what image it's trying to load just right-click on the X's and go to properties; and it will show you the url of the image trying to be loaded.

Hope that helps!

Thank you for that insightful information. I have tried to find how to edit the module but have had no luck. The images that the x's address were images that I had previously placed there, but in completely different modules which I have now discarded. It seems there is a memory in the module position itself that wants to call these images.

Is there a way to edit that? Should I go to the code somehow? Or could you please tell me how I might find the image link, if I can't see it in the modules that are actually placedthere.

Hope you understand what I mean and humble apologies for my lack of knowledge.

best wishes

Would you be able to private message me joomla admin login so I can see the code in your modules? Thanks.
