Hi,

You've done some custom work for me in the past.

I am interested in the New Architect template for my own website (finally have time to do it)

But the menu system does not seem to work correctly in IE7.

The fade in and drop down effects look wrong. Work perfect in Firefox.

Can they be changed to have the cell change colors instead of just an underline link ?

Also, can it  be made to work properly with IE7.

Regards,

Hello Gary,

We haven't had anyone say there was in error in IE7, what seems to be the problem?

You can change the cell colors instead of having just an underline but this will take some custom coding, we can guide you in where you want to change the CSS but getting it cross browser, especially IE6 may take some time.

Hi,

Please check this yourself using both IE7 and firefox.

They are different and don't look the same.

The IE7 has strange colors that are hard to see.

The text in the drop downs take the color of the background.

This does not happen in Firefox.

Regards,

Gary

Hey Gary,

I don't see what you are talking of and we also haven't had anyone else mention a problem like this with IE7.  If you can post a screenshot of what you are seeing this would help me.

Picture shows the text blending with the background.

Can't really tell what it says.

Wow, I really have no idea why its showing up for you like that, very odd.  I have tested on several computers with IE7 and cannot replicate this.  Only thing I can think of is it possibly having something to do with your version of IE, perhaps something is corrupt.  Or you could try the Joomla 1.0.x version here: http://www.shape5.com/demo/new_architect/

The 1.0.x demo uses the standard suckerfish snap in style, perhaps the fade in style is causing the problem for you.

Hmmm,

That's very odd. I just tested it on my notebook computer that has XP SP3 with all the latest updates.

It works fine.

Well, if that is the case, I am sure there is an issue of some sort with my main machine which also has XP SP3 and
fully updated. I'm not going to try to debug it as I'm upgrading the machine before Christmas I hope.

Still, I would presonally prefer the menu to not use undeline links and change color or whatnot when hovered.

That's not just a .css issue then ??

Thanks,

Gary

Hey Gary,

Its not super hard, I just said it may takes some time because you never know what you are going to come across with cross browser problems.  But in theory it shouldn't take long or be hard to do Smiley
