Thanks for your prompt response. My feedback would be you really need to create some video or detailed tutorials for how to work with your theme(s), & plugins it is not intuitive or straight forward as you would expect as a wordpress user. to be more specific on help I need.
I have been putting a lot of effort into finding ways to improve the "user-friendliness" of releases, but the main problem is that the Joomla versions I'm reprogramming to work on WP are even less intuitive, and some of that can't be changed without breaking the way they work. I am always interested to hear what people think would make things more user friendly, so if you have any suggestions, please let me know.
q1: how to remove dropdown panel right at the top of the site?
It looks like you've already managed to remove it, but if you haven't, just remove all widgets from the "Drop Down 1-6" sidebar positions.
The site width can be adjusted in the theme options: Shape 5 Theme -> Layout
Almost everything that can be adjusted about the theme is in the options area, so I suggest exploring all the tabs to see what can be done.
q3: how to assign posts to blog menu/tab?
I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. Assigning a different blog/home page is a core WordPress function, and can be found under "Settings -> Reading" in the WordPress admin.
The version of Accordion Menu that works on older releases like Compassion uses the page structure to generate the menu; it can only be changed globally, and that can only be done by changing your page structure across the whole site.
The new responsive version uses the custom menus that were introduced in WP 3, but it may not function correctly on an old release.
