Hi guys,

I think I'm missing something really simple here.
So we have the homepage set to Featured Article Blog.
Then we have an article set as Featured ("The Mark of Excellence")...

but where does it show on the home page??
I have been searching the index.php to see if some positions have been disabled, but I can't find anything :S

I want to show a few featured articles on the frontpage so need to re-enable it, or configure the CSS to show them...
Thanks
Alex

Hello,

Make sure the component/article area isn't hid in the Vertex admin area of the template.  Some templates have it hid because of how we setup the demo layout.

Regards,

Hey,

It seems like you know your way around web design. I would suggest familiarizing yourself with all the features in Vertex which you may not have had the pleasure of meeting yet. Might save you some time for things we have already integrated.

Absolutely...  Grin

As much as I know someone went to all the effort to make this lovely document, and I'm sure it's very good... I'm that classic kinda man that doesn't ask for directions until he's really lost, and tries putting IKEA furniture together without opening the instructions.  It all adds to the satisfaction at the end eh?

Ha,

I am the same way but the only reason I mentioned it in this case is because you will most likely spend hours writing code for something that has already been written for you. Both ways will get you there its just how much time you want to spend using that annoying L shaped Ikea Allen Key to get there Smiley

You're absolutely right, and I've done exactly that in the past.  But usually I find the CSS with some PHP code injecting various attributes so that's when I go searching around the template settings.

I've been working with the Shape5.com templates extensively since October and I'm fairly happy I know my way around them pretty well, it's just those settings that are really used that only pop up once in a while!

Hello,

This feature is here in the Template Manager:

Extensions > Template Manager > EZ Web Hosting > Vertex > General >

Select Pages You Would Like The Component and Article Area To Be Hidden On
