Since I have Your store installed I have no more visitors shown in Google Analytics.

I have the Analytics module publshed in the debug position. It should be published in the last module position of the template.

Could you please help me solve this as it is seriously hampering tracking our visitors to the site.

Jos,

I am not familiar with the Analytics module. Just publishing it in the last module really isn't enough; it needs to be the very last thing read in the body...including other modules, images, and other javascript.

What you should do is paste your Analytics urchin script inside the index.php file just above the closing </body> tag found at the bottom of the file.

Hope that helps.

I just came home from work and had a brainwave. I figured it is not the analytics module but the Google Verification that caused the problem.

I have pasted the code from Google Analytics just after the html and head tag in index.php as instructed by Google. Now the Google Verification function passed without a glitch. That should do the trick and I figure it should work now.

I will follow up on the next day or so to see if my visitor counters show up again.

Thanks for your help.

I have figured it out.

1. I did lose my verification for this site at Google. Because of the new template I am now using, this is normal. I should have known that. I did paste the verification code back in the template and that fixed it. You can also do verification by placing a specially named file in your hosting root directory but one way or the other for this site that has never worked.

2. Since that did not get my Google analytics back up I checked the index.php file for the last module published in there. After some puzzling I figured it must be the footer module. I published the Google Analytics module in that position of the template and yes.. I do have my Analytics back on line.

Since many joomla people use this module to make their lives easy Shape5 may consider to publish a Google analytcis module in every of their joomla templates in the very last position of the templates specifically for this purpose. Now I had to give up the footer module position. In my rhuk solarflare I could publish it into debug for it to work.

Hope this helps other people struggling with the same problem.

Jos,

Im guessing the analytics module doesn't have any visuals to the user on the front.  Since Joomla allows for multiple modules published to one position you should still be able to publish a menu or other items to the footer position.

Yeah, you are right that it does not display anything on the front end. I did not realize I could have two modules published in that position.

The reason I gave up using the footer is that it does not float down when the screen content moves down farther than the footer. The footer is then displayed superimposed over the content of articles we have in the shop.

I do not know if that is a bug. If it can be fixed that would be wonderfull, then  we can display our address details again. Can I have an expert opinion on that?

That does sound like a bug, could you try using the footer again so we can see the issue?

Thanks,

This is bizar: I checked the link in the above message and found it was working OK. The address data are in the right place.

This is however what happens if I call up that very same article from the store from the category screen in the middle.

Sequence: custom stringing > Shamrock custom dyeing  ----- > address data is messed up in the Paypal logo display as can be seen here:

Any suggestions?

I have seen this happen on other occasions too. It looks like it happens when a panel dynamically increases in size.

Hey Jos,

Sorry for the delayed response.  I logged into your site and fixed the problem. I tested with the "custom stringing > Shamrock custom dyeing  ----- > address data is " sequence and it seems to be working now.  Let me know if you still encounter any problems with the footer again.

Best Regards,
