I would like to customise colors but am having a few problems finding where to effect them.

For instance, I want to change the color of the slider, and have adjusted it via the psd. However I can't work out what to do with it./ what format to save it/ into which folder it goes into.

I also want to change the color in the general slider position and menu highlight colors. Any clues to where/ what code to look for?

I use Firebug to figure out where things are located in the CSS; that's probably the best option for you as well.  Firebug will show what the code looks like and give you the file location and line number that each specific section starts on.

The majority of the appearance adjustments in the Vertex-based releases are pure CSS and don't use images at all, so there's a good chance that you only need the PSD as a reference to help you make adjustments to the CSS.

Thanks Tristan, I should have given a bit more info.

I already  used Firebug to try to find out where to change the code, but couldn't work it out so I posted here for help..

I have attched a jpeg of the element as it shows up in firebug. I need to change the color of the area around the slider.

The color hex code that I want to change shows up in the html, but doesn't have any values in the template.css.

I also want to change the color within the slider area, but can't seem to find a solution through firebug for this either.

I have also searched through all of the css files and still have has no ,luck.

That specific color is configured on the first tab ("Theme Specific") of the Theme Options area in the admin; "Highlight Color" is the option you will want to look for.

Thanks Tristan, that would make doing the changes very easy! However, I just went to Theme Options, and while the option sub headings come up, clicking on them doesnt bring up the actual options to change. I am using WP 3.6.
Thnx again.

Would you be willing to PM me FTP access and site login information so I can take a look at it and figure out what's causing the problem?  It's very possible that there's an issue with 3.6 that is breaking the way the admin loads, but I'm not having any issues with the new admin for the responsive releases, so I probably just need to "patch" the older Vertex-based releases to use the new admin.

...would you be willing to have me use your site to test the patch?
