Hi Guys,
I need some help with this two topics. Just to understand better:

1) Metadata/Keywords
I am using several modules (html modules triggered with an article using your function not to show the article itself). And I am wondering that being my text in the html module I may be missing the keywords/metadata facility offered by articles. I mean that possible search engine are not "seeing" my site correctly. I understand this is more a Joomla related question but...if this is the point and considering I want to use the useful feature of the template not to show articles, can I eventually copy the html text of my modules in various articles to take advantage of the keywords for SEO?

2) Multilanguage
I understand the template is handling "some" of the multilanguage issues. But Should I use the Joomla feature to have a dual language site in any case? I guess so and it is actually not clear to me how the two (template and joomla multilanguage feature) will cooperate.

Thank you so much as usual and I apologize in advance if my questions are due to my lack of preparation in Joomla!

1. Whatever page your modules are published to should have an article too as thats how Joomla works, so you could just add the keywords  for the modules to that article.

2.  Check out our multi language tutorial here:

Hi Jonah,
1. Yes, I understand that. I indeed have one article for each published module. But the article in fact is not shown because the module is a custom HTML (i use custom html for text modules because I want to show them as not being articles taking advantage of your vertex feature). So basically I have a custom HTML module and and article being the exact same html code which is not displayed. So my question is: if I put all keywords in the article (which is in fact just a sort of trigger to display the module) will those keywords be available to search engines?
2. I think I followed the tutorial but I cannot see my double language menus. There must be something I am doing wrong. Just one question that may help me figuring it out: even the "language switcher" is not showing in the site. I mean that even if it is enabled, the flags or menu are not displayed not allowing the change of the language on the site. Languages are installed as well as categories and language support.

Thanks

Hello,

1) Yes the search engine will pick up these keywords

2) Please be sure to follow the HD Video tutorial here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ka8B4ZnFvk

It explains how to set this up exactly with Vertex.

Hi Mike,
yes, I followed the video and (I think) I respected all passages. But no way. One of the things I noticed is that I don't have the category option when adding menu items (see attached). But maybe this is due to an older joonla version in the video.
And I cannot see the language switcher even when published in the template position (I see the title but no flags or selection possible).

Thanks again

Hello,

1) There are 2 options in the Language Switcher module. One will use plain text and the other should use the image flags. Make sure the settings are correct and you have 2 different default menus assigned to each language.

2) The video was most likely on a different version of Joomla but the process should still be very similar. The video is more of a guideline on how to do it for people who are more visual. There is another decent tutorial here:

Hi Mike,
thanks again. Your words helped me figuring out the problem. I did not assign a second default menu!
So basically the menu was there, but not being setted to default wasn't made availbale by the system (and flags were not shown for the same reason!).

I have a very last question about this: Is there any chance I can move the language switcher (the two flags) in the upper part of my template, say for example next to my login or around the social images?

Thanks again, everything is now ok!

Hello,

You would need to use one of the available module positions provided with the Template. You could also custom program a new position to the Template. We have a small tutorial for this here:

Hi Mike,
I succeded in creating a new module (language) using Vertex guide. And correctly published in the site.
If you have a chance, can you have a look at www.fixmyraw.com and www.mypersonalphotographer.it. The language flags have been implemented with the absolute position using the CSS. But I would loved to have those flags not moving all around. Let's say in a fixed position like the Login/Register buttons.
Can you give me one last hint on that?

Thanks as usual

Hello,

Try changing your coding to something like below.

Template.CSS - Line 614

#s5_language {
    float: right;
    margin-left: 975px;
    position: absolute;
    top: 40px;}
