Hi Mike

I have created an article (see screenshot 1) that I need to link to from the Read More button in the slideshow on the front page (see screenshot 2).

I am having trouble understanding how to set up the URL in this code:

HTML to display in Box 1
<a href="http://wcarf.com/index.php/vehicle-reg" class="readon">Read More[/url]

Can you give me some direction?

Thank you

Hello,

You would find the url of the page you want it to open and then just change out this part of the href:

http://wcarf.com/index.php/vehicle-reg

With the url you want it to open.

Hello,

The article would need to have a read more button it, via the editor when editing the article. Once you have that on the article just click the read more link in the article and copy over the url from the browser. I could be wrong, but I think you can then remove the read more from the article and the link should still work.

Mike
I have tried everything I can think of to get the Read More to function.

It is active in the Button - Read More plugin.
It is enabled in the Article administration.
There is text both before and after the Read More
Here is the HTML in the article where I placed the Read More:
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; line-height: normal; mso-pagination: none; tab-stops: .5in 1.0in 1.5in 2.0in 2.5in 3.0in 3.5in 4.0in 4.5in 5.0in 5.5in 6.0in; mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;">&nbsp;</p>
<hr id="system-readmore" />
<p style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Helvetica','sans-serif';">Trips to the DMV are costly and waste valuable time. Save time and money by allowing us to process your transaction immediately.</span>

But it simply will not show up, and so I am not able to see the URL to the article.

If you want you can select the menu item "Vehicle Registration" in the Main Menu and you will see what I mean.  There is a space where I added the Read More, but no button or link is visible.

http://wcarf.com

Actually, I just need to find a way to determine URLs for articles.

Thanks,

Pete

Hello,

Because this link:

http://wcarf.com/index.php/vehicle-registration

Is the page that would open with Read More, it's showing both your intro and read more text on that page. Read more's only show on the frontpage or in a blog view where only the intro text is available. On the article page itself the read more text is always shown, and never a button.

If you are trying to link the module to that page you would just use that url in the href section.
