Hi,

thanks for the great free template!

I've got, however, a little issue I cannot figure out. I cannot save the template config. At my local XAMPP it works without problems but on the  shared hosting server the config just won't save. I've already tried changing permissions of the vertex.json file but to no avail.

I'm grateful for any hints!

Thx in advance,
best wishes!

Hello,

1) Try a different browser. Certain browsers have submission issues in Joomla.

2) The only other thing that would affect whether changes can be saved would be the permissions of the vertex.json file on the server.

Hi. I have the same issue. I tried all Browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE10+11) but it wont safe anything in the config. The permissions I set are right. I tried the other template VERTEX and its parameters are safed exactly as it should, only the design control dont safe the parameters. Why? Please advice. Thank you.

Hello,

I just tested this template and it saves fine.  If you can PM me ftp and joomla login details I can take a look for you but its going to be a local issue to you, permissions based most likely.

Hello,

I'm evaluating templates and frameworks currently. After the fresh installation of the complete package "SiteShaper_Shape5_Design_Control_current" and updating to 3.3.0  I'm stuck at the point were I want to save the changed configuration in the template manager. The message "Style successfully saved" appears, but after reloading all settings are back to default.

- permission of vertex.json is set to 777
- tried to check the version of vertex: it is not shown under the "about" tab (empty)
- there are no additional languages installed
- firefox or chrome: no difference

Do I miss something here?

Thanks in advance,
Oskar

Hello,

I have tested this on a fresh install and updated it to 3.3 and the entire Vertex admin is working for me and the version number is showing as well.

If you can private message me super admin access I can take a look at it.

I know it's a old thread, but I have the same problem. Are there any solutions? I've already set CHMOD to 777 and tested with Chrome Firefox and IE.

Best regards

Hello,

Can you try completely deleting your vertex.json file and reconfiguring the settings in the back end. This is generally caused by a permissions error on the server or a CHMOD setting error.

Hello,

Unfortunately this isn't something we can debug as the issue is caused by the server blocking the write functions or a browser specific ajax issue. The steps below are the only thing we can suggest as we have thousands of users on this Framework which is the same as the site you have without any issues.

1) Try multiple browsers (FF, IE, Chrome, Safari)
2) Reinstall the Template
3) Remove the vertex.json file completely and then re-save a configuration
4) Check the CHMOD settings of the Vertex.json file

If none of that works I would suggest contacting your web host as it means the server is not allowing proper write access to the file. You can see a similar thread here:
