You can try disabling the image lazy load setting in the theme options; if your server/connection/computer is running slow, it can stop the images from loading correctly.

That seemed to have worked. Thanks a lot for helping me get my head wrapped around Word Press. I'm still thinking it's like Joomla...

Could changing that setting have any affect on the images in the Slider now not rotating?

That seemed to have worked. Thanks a lot for helping me get my head wrapped around Word Press. I'm still thinking it's like Joomla...

Wordpress itself is very different, but the themes are "converted" from the Joomla templates, so a large portion of the code in the themes themselves is very similar to Joomla.  I've put a lot of effort into adding the extra things that WP users expect, but there's still a long way to go before I'm happy with the results.

Could changing that setting have any affect on the images in the Slider now not rotating?

It shouldn't.  Can you provide a URL?

Right now, I have it in a development folder on the server. After I get things worked out the way I want, I'll make the site live. you may go

http://mindacoc.net/dev

Let me know if I need to make you an account to get in and look around. i really appreciate the help. I went to Word Press because i thought it might be easier for the people that are going to help me maintain the site. Wonder if i should give the new version of Joomla a try instead? Your thoughts?

Firebug is showing me that you have 2 copies of jQuery loading, that's almost definitely what is causing the problem.

That problem is caused by a third party plugin forcing jQuery to be loaded when it's already being called by the theme.  The trick is figuring out which one.  I'll be working on a patch soon that should hopefully prevent that problem, but until then, once you figure out what plugin is doing it, you can comment out the line of code to load jQuery for whatever plugin it is.

As I've only downloaded and installed one third party plugin, once I deactivated it, the slider now seems to work.

Thanks,
Freddie

P.S. I think I really miss Joomla.....lol

WP is much more user friendly in the long run...  for basic users.  Joomla is more geared towards developers, so converting something from Joomla to run on WP (which is basically what I do at this point) can make the development process a little more difficult than it would be normally...  so I completely understand.  Your clients/users will appreciate the ease of the interface though.

Awesome!  I love it when people come back with good things to say after their problems have been solved.  Support tends to be a very negative job, positive feedback is much appreciated.  Thanks!
