Design Control is the first free template I've tried and it was going great until I installed Phoca Gallery.  In category view all the images are in one column and I want 3 columns.  If I switch to Beez template it functions normally.  Would anyone have an idea how I could get this to function properly with Design Control?

Hello,

You would need to contact the developer of the extension regarding this, it should be providing its own css for this and relying on the template.

Thank you for your reply. Can you help me understand why in some templates the component's layout display's properly and others it does not?  I'm not looking for specifics but just a general understanding. The component will display properly on the default Joomla template but not in Design Control and some other templates but on some others it does display properly. I would assume when it doesn't display the template is the issue.  You stated the component shouldn't rely on the template for css and provide it's own. So does that mean the default Joomla template contains css that the design-control doesn't by default?

Thank you for any reply and appreciate any insight for a better understanding for me.

After reading through the forum, someone was having troubles with columns on the front page http://www.shape5.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,75/topic,33181.0/

I tried it and it corrected the photo gallery layout issue I was having.
