Hi There,

We are using the S5 box on our pages and as instructed, it is set to appear on every page.  The instructions on the module say that separate modules should be created and their positions set in the box such as 'product1_module'.  Product1 module is set to appear on the product page (menu assignment) and I  put the content to display directly in the product1 module.

This does not work at all for me.  The demo of business pro basically shows the s5 box displaying featured articles.  There aren't any modules in the s5_box1 position as described in the help.

So what is the right way to use this s5 box?

I would love to use modules for each of the pages for each of the s5 boxes.

Thanks for the help.

cheers

Hello,

The S5 Box module should be published on all pages as it adds lightbox functionality to the Login/Register boxes as well as any other areas you are using it. To use a S5 Box position all you need to do is assign a module to one of the S5 Box positions available such as s5_box1.

Also, you might be confusing "multibox" with "S5 Box" as they are pretty similiar. Multibox is built directly into the Framework.

Thanks for the reply Mike,

If you look at the sample data for the business pro site, you will see that the S5 box is displaying featured articles.

I have checked this carefully and also tested by creating a page and not using any modules except S5Box and another module that is also set for the page and in the s5_box1 module position.  This does not get displayed.  If you add a featured article, it will display.

Could you please confirm this Mike,

thanks

Hello,

Maybe I am not following you but S5 Box doesn't publish "Featured Articles" These are published by the Joomla Component on every page unless toggled off in the Template Manager for specific Menu Items under the Hide Component On These Pages drop down.

Hi Mark,

So as not to introduce anything weird that I may have done, the following are screenshots from the joomla setup of the sample data of the business pro template.

The site is accessible under http://benchm8.com/test

This is the home page menu module assignment..

You will see there are no modules with position s5Box_1.
This is also verifiable by going to the modules menu under joomla->extensions-> modules and there are no modules with s5Box_1 or s5box_2 or s5box_3.

There are only 3 featured articles in the sample data and these are displayed in the s5 box on the home page.

The code in featured article 3 is  as follows

<div class="s5_is"><img src="images/article3.jpg" alt="" />
<div class="s5_is_slide">
<h3>Highlight Colors</h3>
This is dummy text. You can add any text or html markup here. <a href="index.php/features-mainmenu-47/template-features/info-slide-enabled">Learn More...</div>
</div>
<p><span class="highlight1_text highlight_font" style="font-size: 1.2em; display: block; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 5px;">Set your own custom colors</span>This template comes with the ability to set your own custom colors. The highlight controls items such as the menu, and a second highlight controls some modules and hover colors.</p>
<p class="readmore"><a href="index.php/features-mainmenu-47/template-specific-features">Read More</p>

I created a new menu item on the main menu call my s5 menu
I create a custom html module called 'my s5 box module' and makde the position ss5_box1.  I added the following code to the custom html
<p><a class="s5box_one">Hello Cruel World</p>
This new module is on all pages.

This new module is not visible on the my s5 menu page.

What am I missing?

Thanks Mike,

regards,
Peter

Hello,

You can publish a module position to an S5 Box position but you still need to have it trigged on a link visible on the front end. The S5 Box positions are "pop up" positions meaning they won't be visible unless you have something to initiate them such as an onclick on a link.

You can use a list of available module positions here:

http://benchm8.com/test/index.php/features-mainmenu-47/template-features/97-module-positions

Also to set up a module to use S5 Box in the popup you need to follow the instructions here:

http://benchm8.com/test/index.php/extensions/s5-box

Ok,  I am beginning to understand.  The S5 box is a popup style control.

Your first assumption that I am actually using the multibox is probably right.

don't really need a pop up functionality at present.  Thanks for clarifying this.
