The brief was to echo this companies brochure in terms of layout and design basing it on Joomla 3.0.

Worked out well thanks to the flexibility of Vertex...

Looks good! Did you start with one of our template or did you do it all from scratch and just built off of Vertex?

That is very well done. Would definitely not recognize it as Vertex at first glance.

Thanks 2 Mikes!

I used the free Vertex template, 160 lines of CSS/overrides to get to where I needed!

The only slightly tricky challenge I had was finding a way around the fact that left_inset does not height balance with the left position as I needed left and left_inset to have a different background color. So I used:-

div#s5_left_column_wrap {background:transparent url(../images/lc-bg.jpg) repeat-y; background-size: contain;}

where lc-bg.jpg is a white and grey graphic.

If you were to enhance Vertex I'd say make left_inset a true column and allow it to auto balance in height (perhaps with an option) with left!

Otherwise, as always, Vertex is lovely to work with.

:-)

Thanks for your suggestions and compliments.

We are constantly working to improve vertex and will use input from customers such as yourself to help with this process.
