i ran the preload in a new directory. It went fine until i looked at the homepage. It was the normal default look. Then i downloaded the template only and tried to install it the normal way u would install a template.  it can back with red letter saying its already installed. Then went back to template manager and sure enough its not there. I need the 2.5 version because im checking out a extencion thats only for that

Make sure you follow the Video Tutorials for installation. It sounds like you aren't following the correct procedures or did not install the Sample Data during the 2nd last step of the Site Shaper installation.

I tested both the Site Shaper and Template and the installs were working. We also haven't had any reports of installation issues for this. I would start again following the tutorials with a new database and you should be successful. If not let me know and we can proceed from there.
