OMG.  Create a database.......;  Local installation...........'  Fill in the details......;  This is ridiculous!

I didn't buy into this club to become a a Joomla developer/installer expert but to use the great work other people do.

There is no easier way to install Joomla itself or install a site shaper.  Please check the following as it has details on how to create a database and information on how to install a site shaper too.  If this doesn't help let me known specifically what you are stuck on:

ISakari - I doubt you will be getting that.  This is in another post from Shape5 on August 1:  "Finally, now that Joomla is on a six month release cycle we have decided to discontinue our stand alone SQL dumps of demo data for new versions of Joomla. There was a day when SQL dumps were very important before we packaged our products in site shapers. Now we do not feel their need is as great as a site shaper, and the same data will be included in our site shapers. Also, by eliminating these it frees more time up to produce conversions of products much quicker into new Joomla versions."

Dear bro,

I dont think if you can find any website that gives you the exact thing you want, in fact you should learn how to personalize your stuff yourself otherwise you cant have a powerful website

I dont think shape5 team can do that for you anyway, however you can hire a coder,

Thanks,

All I wanted to do was get a template that had the layout and features I wanted and I could modify the content to meet my requirements.  It seems pretty odd to me that the backend features that everyone talked about in making Joomla the way to go aren't functional or supported when they say they are.  If I wanted to get an "empty" template I would have bought that.  If I wanted to pay someone to do this I could have done that as well.

I've built web sites before with software that facilitated one doing the build without being a programmer or code geek.  It did not do it for you but was iterative enough to learn and get the results I wanted.  That was all I expected here as well - a workable framework with the basic tools I need to navigate and modify.

Problem geloest!

Danke!
Sakari

Problem solved!

The problem lies in the mySQL database version!

On our servers we use Plesk 10.3.1 with the mySQL version 5.0.51!
And it looks like shap5 uses a higher version, I think from 5.5.x

Unfortunately I can not updatet my mySQL on my server because it is connected with Plesk!

That's why I've installed it on my friend, he has the mySQL version 5.5.16!
Since it ran without problems!
Then I have a SQL Dump for export MYSQL40!
And then imported my server!

And now the demo is also on my server!

Oh yes, one big plea to Shap5 team!
Please in the future to create sample_data.sql MYSQL40 to run in older mySQL!

Thank you!

If you are still stuck you can PM me login access to your server and I can get it setup for you.  It won't take me long at all.  Just click my username and then on the next screen you'll see personal message which only will be between you and I.

Sincerely,

I know that this is an old topic, but I had the same issue when I attempted to install a fresh Site Shaper template.

The reason for the new installation not showing the template is because I did not click "Use Sample Data" during the Joomla setup process.

After trying to install again and correctly using the sample data, the template shell appears.

Anyone searching this blog and having trouble seeing the template that you purchased in the new Joomla install, try again and be sure to use the sample data.
