I've installed the Design Control theme and everything appears to be in place but none of the links to "read more" or "login" or "register" seem to be working.  They are all giving the 404 Not Found error.  I've enabled user registration but it does not seem to work?  None of the dropdown menu items seem to link correctly either. Do all of these links need to be manually edited?

- Update:  Additionally when I add items in the menu (say to open a specific article or link to a module) I also get the 404 error.

Hello,

Please post a URL

The URL is http://http://2hwd.com/cod/

It is a simple setup for a Call of Duty Advanced Warfare clan.  Would really like to get it up and running.  Thank you for your assistance.

Hello,

Your site gives a 502 Bad Gateway error when loading it. If you're getting 404 errors this is most likely due to your SEF settings. Make sure you have renamed htaccess.txt to .hatccess in the root of your site, that is required for SEF.

Sorry about the 502 error, as if I was not having enough issues my provider also had some.  The 502 is fixed but the 404 errors persist.  htaccess was renamed after install and the .txt removed.  Still having errors  Huh

Hello,

The template itself doesn't control any of the links, only Joomla does. I would suggest turning off SEF in the global configuration of Joomla and see if that changes anything with the 404 errors.

I've tried that as well to no avail.  I've posted on the Joomla site as well.   I also contacted my server provider to see if there could be some permission issue on the server or maybe apache problem.  I'm at my wits end for now.  Thank you for the ideas and attempts to assist!

Hello,

You need an htaccess file on the server somewhere but you said you removed it? If you have SEF URLs enabled you should have a .htaccess file instead of the htaccess.txt file. This is something you would want to contact your web host regarding as the Template has no control over URLs like this or your servers settings.

I have an htaccess file, I renamed it removing the ".txt" extension but did not remove the file itself.  I had SEF URLs turned on.  Here is what I just did (I have two Joomla sites set up at the moment, one set up from the install package and the other from the servers instaltron).  I noticed the server instaltron one didn't have a htaccess file at all so I turned off SEF and bam it brought up the registration page!  I went to the other site (the one I really want to work) and turned off SEF and renamed the htaccess file to "nohtaccess" to turn it off but it still refuses to work?

Hello,

I am not sure then since this is not a file provided with our products. The htaccess file and the server redirection for links is entirely handled by Joomla itself. I would suggest posting on Joomla.Org to see if they have any feedback regarding this or contact your web host to check the error logs on the server.
