Hi,
The template comes with a list of items that are time bound in a sense that they start and end at certain times - so I'm expecting once the date has elapsed the item will no longer show on the website. Whilst his is fine in some instances, I'd like to use the same module that appears to the left of the Appointment Inquiry form to list out some propositions. I've tried to delete the time filed but it has not worked. Can you please let me know how I can configure this module/article so that the date does not appear in the icon to the left of the item. Please see the default setting attached.

So basically, I want the listing and some kind of an icon to the left of these to differentiate the items that are all under one main heading but I don't want to see the dates.

Thanks

Hello,

So you don't want it to show articles based on date?  Why don't you just use a custom HTML module then and publish it there.  Then you can just add whatever text and icons you desire via HTML code.

Thanks I'll try that. But can you please tell me how do I find out what position the module has to be in and how I publish it there?

Thanks

Hi,

I think I am going to have to use a similar listing as the Demo site, with the latest news and images. Can you please tell me what is happening here as the dates that I have put in for the article do not match what is on the front end? Also where can I change or configure the 'date' icon that shows on the front end for this module?

Thanks

Actually I just looked at the modules features and you should be able to disable the date output for this module.  Isn't this all you wanted to do?

The date icon is just a circle with text output on it.  Its output via php in the spotlight news files.

I tried to leave the date field blank but for some reason it inputs a default value, so when I went back to the module, that field was populated with a date value that I did not specify.

In this website example, yes, the first idea was to just disable the date and if that can be achieved then that will do for now.

Ahh.. I thought the date icon pulled the date value from the module! So is the php providing a dynamic text - what I mean is once a certain date has elapsed will that item in the list stop being published or do you have to do something manually?

Hello,

You can specify publishing preferences such as Start Publish and End Publish dates which will remove the article/content once that date has been reached. You can also post date articles to be published at a certain point as well. These are all default features of Joomla.
