I am trying to follow the site shaper install and am at the step of creating my database. It shows in phpmyadmin to select privileges tab. I don't see any such tab in phpmyadmin. I set the privileges in the database section of cpanel. Am I missing something on this step? I am having difficulty and want to try to go step by step to get this install up and running.

Hello,

PHPMyAdmin will be on your servers Cpanel. Once you create the database there you need to enter the database details during the installation in the input boxes. You can talk to your web host if you are unsure about what credentials you need to input when installing Wordpress.

I know where phpadmin is - what I am not seeing is what is in the site shaper install tutorial. My phpadmin menu bar does not have any tab called priviliges. The process of adding a database and setting privilges was handled in the mysql databases section of cpanel. I'm just checking to see if I am missing something - maybe working off an older version of phpmyadmin? My version is 4.1.8, and the latest is 4.3.7. Maybe I need my host to update the php.

Hello,

If you create the database through PHPMyAdmin that user should have all privileges. Every web host is a bit different but on my version right now you have to set the User Privileges in the Create Database section at the bottom after selecting the user and database it has been assigned to.

This is one of our videos on the Joomla side for creating a database in HostGator as an example:
