Hi,

My site was updated recently to Joomla 3.4.0 and it appears that the current template that I am using is not compatible with this version of Joomla. Can you please let me know what is the upgrade path for these templates - if any? Or is it a case of once you select a Template from Shape5, then you have to stay at a version of Joomla that is supported by that particular Template?

Thanks

Hello,

What occurred after the update? 3.4 is a new release and we are still testing our products with it to ensure compatibility. I haven't seen any issues arise yet but could you let me know what is happening so I can take a look?

Sorry for the late response. For some strange reason your auto email went into Gmail 'Junk' folder!

I thought you guys were busy and couldn't reply in time, so I had my hosting company revert back to the previous Joomla version again which meant some of my changes were lost.

The problem was that after the upgrade, when you navigated to the front end website, all you saw were 2 tabs. One was the 'Appointment Inquiry' and the other was the 'Testimonials' and that was it. The rest of the page was blank white - nothing on it at all. The tabs couldn't be clicked or anything they were just two static tabs.

Thanks

That is odd.

I know there was an issue with the Spotlight News module in 3.4 that we just pushed an update for today. Maybe try with the new module to see if that helps.

Does it mean that I have to re-install the template again in order to see if it will work with 3.4.0?

Hi,
Can you please let me know if you have done all your testing for this template in 3.4.0? And if all works fine, then what do I need to do in order to update to 3.4.0 but at the same time not break the website?

Thanks

Hello,

We haven't tested this Template but have tested a bunch of the newer ones that use the same platform. The updates are done directly via the back end Joomla Update Component.

Hi,
So are you suggesting I should go ahead and update to 3.4 and everything should work fine? I understand that the upgrade is via the backend, what I needed confirmation of was that once I upgrade, the template will still work fine as previously it stopped working when the upgrade was carried out automatically by SiteGround.
Thanks

Hello,

You should be able to upgrade through the back end without any issues if you are going from 3.X to 3.4. You would want to create a full site backup before doing so in case something goes wrong so you can revert back.
