Hello,

I joined yesterday and started on the Traction template. After installing the quickstart and changing some of the content, the site started to look good in Chrome. But when I took a look with IE9, I got an unpleasant surprise.
The tabbed slider on the home page (below "CALL TODAY") doesn't work (you see all the 6 blocks at once)

I took a look at the demo site with IE9 and saw that it does work there.
http://www.shape5.com/demo/index.php?traction

What I did after installing the quickstart was update the Joomla version. Could this be the problem? Cause I installed the quickstart again in another folder and it was fine. Other changes I made was change some images and texts. Don't think that would break things.

Ok, so that tabbed thing is fixed in IE9. But straight out of the box, the S5 accordion menu doesn't work in IE9 for me. (it does work in the demo version).
What could be the problem with that?

One final thing. I installed the VitaBook guestbook module on my first installation. When I create a menu item for it and open it, the module opens but a lot of the styling (stylesheets?) is missing (the background image is gone, the downdown menu has no colour, etc). Also problem with IE9. Everything works fine with Chrome.

Any ideas?

Ok, deleted the test site and started over. Here's a step by step:

Action: Installed the QuickStart
Result: Site works on Chrome.
Result: In IE9 the S5 Accordion Menu on the homepage doesnt slide open when clicking the + .

Action: In "Template Manager", changed the background color to white
Result: In IE9 the S5 Tab Show extention doesn't display correctly (doesn't work at all).

So it has nothing to do with me updating the Joomla version or changing any content.

In IE9 the S5 Tab Show does work when you navigate to the S5 Tab Show info page from the mainmenu => Extentions
The S5 Accordion Menu partially works on any page (other than the home page). The menu slides open, but you can't close it. It only closes when you open another main menu item.

Here's the URL:

btw, in IE9 using the compatibility option fixes the S5 Tab Show. But then other things go wrong so it's not an option.

Tried the same thing on a different domain:

Installed QuickStart then went to Template Manager and saved the Traction template (just saved it, didn't change anything)
Same result, S5 Tab Show on homepage is now broken eventhough it did work right after install.

(The accordion menu has the same issue....doesn't work right from the start).

At first look, I think I could live with never changing/saving the template so this doesn't break if I was able to change the Social Media URL's.

I don't have IE10....does it work there?
Should I try downloading the template again?

Hello,

I have tested your site here:

http://www.mineralennlc.nl/joomla/

In IE9 and I am not experiencing any issues with the accordion menu. Have you tried on a second machine? Keep in mind that IE9 is almost non-existent anymore, most users are now using 10 or 11.

You can try updating the actual module files from here:

http://www.shape5.com/component/option,com_docman/Itemid,96/task,cat_view/gid,154/

Just to make sure you are on the latest files. The template itself doesn't control the module, it only stylizes it.

Thanks for checking. I did check on 2 separate machines (at home and work). Sadly we still use IE9.
The accordion menu was the least of my problems though. Did the S5 Tab Show work for you?
