Hello, i literally just installed the template and i have this problem on 2 different websites, the quick contact isnt working. (in this case the get a free quote) Can anybody tell me how to fix this?

Hello,

If you are not receiving the email that means there is a configuration problem on your Joomla email settings. The quick contact uses all the default email functions that are built directly into Joomla itself, which are found in the Global Configuration area. Most servers requires smtp authentication, but you would need to check with your host on that.

Ok i tried setting the smtp and the email is still not working. How come for example when i add a user as an administrator the email comes trough? Its based on the same joomla mailer isnt it?

Did you check to make sure the emails aren't being filtered into a Spam / Junk folder?

yes I did. I even changed the main joomla email for both a custom one and a hotmail one and still nothing.

Hello,

There is most likely something on your server blocking the submissions then. I just tested the submissions on my copy and the email was going through properly. Check your mail settings under the Server Tab in the Global Configuration. If using PHP Mail make sure that the phpmail() function is enabled on the server. Also try using SMTP and if your server requires authentication to add those credentials as well.

I figure the smtp settings are right (I did set the smtp mail in global config) because every other Joomla mail is sending correctly. Every other joomla mail also works correctly whether i use PHP mailer or SMTP, its just that quick contact thats not working. Is there any other way to check or do something?

update: after trying to test the quick contact and switching a a menu that leads to an article the websitme showed me this notice

Hello,

That error appears when an email address isn't added to the modules input box for the email field. Can you try testing the module on a different server? I am not experiencing this issue on my current installation.

You can also perhaps try to reinstall the module from scratch in case it got corrupted in some way.
