I guess this question also applies to other S5 templates I've seen....The custom 1 position - which usually has a nice tab show or IACF, is always full screen.  In Incline, for example, what parameters can I change to make the custom 1 position takes up half the screen, instead of the full screen? ie. the tab show slides & background, or installing an IACF and putting a slideshow there, will have 100% width images but only take up half the screen (or some other defined portion of the screen)?

Unfortunately that wouldn't be possible without custom programming for this position. The custom_1 position was specifically designed to be full width and output a video to the container. You would need to use one of the other Vertex based positions below:

Height for the other positions will just be based on the content published too them as it is responsive. You wouldn't want to specify a certain height to a position as responsive wouldn't work properly.
