I'm fairly new to web site building - my apologies.

I'm simply trying to install Site Shaper through C-Panel, access my template & get back to work.

I'm failing miserably - keep trying to use the video (http://www.shape5.com/documentation/Joomla/Getting-Started/How-to-Install-a-Joomla-Site-Shaper), but I'm missing something.

Getting to php login then failure.

Any insight?

Hello,

GoDaddy has a lot of issue with Joomla installs and often times requires the support teams to create a larger server php limit to upload Joomla properly. I would contact their support teams and let them know you are having issues with a standard Joomla installation. The video tutorial should be the same for any server as long as they are configured properly.

Regards,

Here are the GoDaddy moves that achieve failure:               Attached

The dialogue & descriptive moves do not make sense to me and that in the PhP this error occurs:
Forgot Password?
You may reset your database password in the Hosting Control Center. "But I cannot locate something called "Hosting Control Center".

I am going to contact GoDaddy now to have them walk me through the logical moves although I prefer Host Gator, GoDaddy usually can resolve
problems using dialogue & engagement with their client (who has 7 more websites to build).

Just finished a complete tear-down & reinstall of Joomla with GoDaddy (Version 2.5.14)
I got both the Site Shaper & Template Loaded.

Now on to another host of problems to deal with.

- Do I need to upgrade to 3.0?
    - If so what adverse effects should I prepare to encounter?
- What problems can I expect?
- Will I have more problems with Template/GoDaddy?

Huh

Hello,

1) Upgrading to 3.X is recommended but you will need to update and Templates / Extensions and be prepared to debug layout changes that may occur.

2) GoDaddy is just an awful host for any CMS. Changes to htaccess require a server restart among other things such as slow connection speed during peak times etc.
