I want the S5 Masonry widget to only show posts of a specific category. I select that category, but it shows posts from all categories.

Can you provide a link to the site that's having the problem?  The shaper files are identical to the ones used to set up the demo, and the demo doesn't have the problem, so it's likely that there's something in your settings that is causing it.

Ah, ok.  Thanks for replying here.  I only check PMs when I'm expecting information that can't be shared directly on the forum.

First question: What happens if you select more than 1 category?  Does the problem only occur when you have a single category selected?

I am having the same problem with the Masonry widget on my site.  I have two categories selected, but posts from all categories show.  The tiles also show the entire article even though I have it set to show intro text and the read more button.  I have tried turning off all other plug-ins, but it had no affect on the masonry widget.

The site is solutionbuilding.net, but it is currently offline, so I will pm you login credentials.

You only have 2 categories, you have both of them selected, and all of your posts are in one or both of those categories; it appears to me that you're getting exactly the result the settings are set for.

As for the "intro text", do you have a separate excerpt created for each post (you'll have to enable the excerpt editor in the "screen options" dropdown on the post edit page)?  If not, it will use the full post text.

I actually have three categories:  "Uncategorized" "Building a Better Life" and "Building A Better Business".  The masonry widget is displaying 1 post from "Uncategorized", 2 posts from "Building a Better Life" and no posts from "Building a Better Business".  The only categories I have selected are "Building a Better Life" and "Building a Better Business".

I was using the "More" tag which was displaying the entire text in the Masonry widget.  I added an excerpt and it now shows only the text I have selected, but there is still no read more button.

The "Read More" button option actually refers to the button that only appears when there are more posts to display (beyond the number that are displayed initially), not a button for each post.  Since the widget thinks that it's already displaying all the possible posts in the categories you have selected, it's not going to show the button.

It appears that your Business category is configured as a sub-category of the Uncategorized category, which may be what's confusing the code and preventing it from showing the correct posts.
