What a confusing theme, I cannot find where I should add the slider to the home page just below the main navigation bar.

That is the Image and Content Fader widget, and it is located in the Custom 1 widget position.  More details on theme-specific features and configuration can be found on the demo: http://shape5.com/demo/wp/emusica/features/theme-specific-features/

The majority of all demo content is created using widgets which are shown/hidden on specific sections of the site using Widget Context.  Additional theme and framework options can be found in the theme options, located under the "Shape 5 Theme" menu item in the admin.

Great, so I made the image the max width but it is getting cut off at 1299 instead of 1329px and it is now hiding the menu...Huh

Would you be able to post a link to your site so I can see what you're talking about?

Thanks, but I gave up and used a Genesis theme. This is way too complicated and the information too hard to find.

Would you be willing to make some suggestions of how the process could be made less complicated and easier to understand?  I am always looking for ways to improve the WordPress version of the framework, but I have been working on it for so long that I understand exactly how everything works, so I don't always recognize when something may be difficult for a new user who hasn't used Shape 5 products before.  Any feedback on how to improve things is much appreciated.

Sure would you be willing to reimburse the membership fee I paid and that I will not be using. I am a web designer and so I do know my way around WordPress.

That is something that I am unable to do.  As stated by #11 of the Shape 5 Terms of Use, there is a strict "no refunds" policy.

I am more than happy to help you through the initial learning curve of getting the theme set up, but that's the limit of my power.  If you are willing to take the time to learn how to use the framework, I think you will find that it's a lot more flexible and powerful than almost everything else out there; which is why it is so complex.

No thanks, I know how to code so I am not really interested in learning your method. My client liked the look of your theme, but I can reproduce that myself, I thought I was taking a short cut by buying your theme, not so.
