I see in the options where to change the top background, but there is no option to change the global white background.

Hello,

The main background can be changed under the Main / Layout tab. There is an area for the main body background there as well as each row of the template.

Hello,

The main background can be changed under the Main / Layout tab. There is an area for the main body background there as well as each row of the template.

There is no option for the secondary background. Changing the main background color only changed the top.

This is an image of the transition

Another example "Contact Form"

It goes from the scrolling image, to complete white. I am looking to change the white. I have changed ALL values in "Main/Layout" to black to test, no change.

The part that changes is "top_area_bg", where as the area below it is un-editable.

Hello,

I thought you were referring to the main body background, which is controlled in the Main / Layout screen. The white you are showing in your picture is used when no custom background is assigned under the Main / Layout page in template.css:

.s5_no_custom_bg {
    background: #ffffff none repeat scroll 0 0;
    border-bottom: 1px solid #eaeaea;
}

In a text editor just search for ".s5_no_custom_bg" and it will take you to the code.
