Hi
I'm new to Shape 5 templates, so I realise I get to go through a learning curve to understand how the templates work and how the developers "think".

But for the life of me, I'm baffled by the tabshow module.

In the City Portal template, the tabshow gives the very distinct impression that each tab can somehow be linked to an article - it even has the standard "read more" button.

Yet on closer inspection, that "read more" button is only for show.  It does zippo, nada, nix, nuthin'.

I've tried the approach in a previous post, of using customcontent, but that module only displays the article intro text.  What's more, it doesn't give a read more button, nor a link to the rest of the article.  And also doesn't keep the article titles linkable.

I'm running into brick walls here.  Maybe it's just me...

Is there a way for content to be linked to the tabshow, without having to manually hard-code the links?

I have been playing around with it (and not an expert or work here) but have found where to change it or install more tabs. It is not an article it is a module so you have to access it in the Module Manager. To add tabs, change tabs and the dimensions of the module you would click on S5 Tab Show or S5 Tab Show Copy. To change content you would click on s5_tab1 or whatever tab you need to edit and there is a standard Custom Output box to put in your article.

I think they just put in the Read More button to show you could continue full sized article if you needed more space.

Hello,

The tab show simply shows modules.  In our demo we used a read more button and content above it for demo purposes only.  If you want this kind of functionality you would need a content module which would then be published to one of the tab positions.

If you need help on adding module positions to your template view the following tutorial:

For those of you who wanted to use Read More in the Tab Show, try using this Joomla extension. Works wonderfully - I'm a newbie I had to play around with the parameters.

Hope this helps
