Hello everyone

I would like to say that I'm very glad that I found your website. Your designs are beautiful so the desicion to join was a small step.

First I thought that setting up a website is far too difficult for me to do but now I think with the templates I'm able to create something i can show off.

When looking at the templates I see you put a lot of effort into creating them and you have love for the details because they are very well structured.

But I have some questions

1) I installed the fileshaper installation. First of all I tried to update everything to the newest version. But updating joomla gives me this error

Code:
Update: :Extension: Could not open https://update.joomla.org/core/sts/extension_sts.xml

Should I install it manually? Or what can cause this error?

Should I update vertex too?

2) Does the email contact preference differ between the standard joomla email notification and the S5 Contact Menue?

Because I can send email through the standard form but not using the S5 Menue Contact form?

3) I don't need the ?Register Form? on the Main Page so I disabled ?Register? in the module manager.

Editing the dates and the video in the first part of the page uses custom html right? As its described in the documentation.

So editing the texts on the front page are done be editing the html?

Thank you very much for clearing this out.

Hello,

Thanks so happy to hear you like our templates!

1. Not sure why you are getting that error but yes manually installing by overwriting the files via FTP should work fine. Yes do upgrade Vertex to the latest version too.

2. First I would uninstall current version and install a fresh copy to be sure you have the latest files. You can download here:
http://www.shape5.com/product_details/free_extensions/s5_quick_contact.html

Second there is a "server info" option in the admin so you can swap between the 2 choices, perhaps try the other one if current setting isn't working for you server.

3. You also need to go to the Vertex admin area under the "general" tab and remove the text for register and this will hide from the homepage.

Yes correct its custom HTML that you can read more about here and get the code here too:
http://www.shape5.com/demo/eventfull/business/index.php/tutorials-menu-48/custom-code-for-this-design

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks,

Hello thanks for your answer

1) I updated to the latest Joomla with the upgrade package. Vertex seems to be at version 4.0. Now its up to date.

2) Concerning the  S5 Quick Conctact Form. I tried to upgrade the package by just installing the new version. But the contact form was still not working. So I uninstalled the module and installed the newest version. Now it works.
Do I have always to uninstall and reinstall all of the S5 modules when I want to use the latest version or can I install just the latest package? Because I did the same with the Image Viewer Plugin used at the top from the website.

However now I have the problem that its working though but I lost the whole styling of the contact form and Im not that advanced user to know how I get it how it was before. So its not a good option for me.
I dont know all the variables used for this form so that I could backup those or copy them elsewhere and put them to the original place after the operation.

I edited the module settings and I also managed that it appears on the front page but there must be some other changes too. Its small now not at the right place.
What can I do?

3) Sorry must be kind of misunderstanding. I don't want to remove the "Register" Button in the Menu. I would like that the Button "Register" links to something else.

Thank you very much.

2. Make sure its published to the bottom row 3_1 module position. If this doesn't help can you please post a URL so I can see what happened to the styling? Sometimes you do need to reinstall a module as we update them from time to time but we don't update the site shaper. So yes perhaps best option is just to grab fresh copies and overwrite the download files of the modules.

3. Oh if you want to link to something else there is a text box right under where the text "register" is in the Vertex admin. You can enter in any URL you desire it to go to.

Thank you very much for your reply. Sorry that I have to ask that many questions.

2) I have the quick contact box working now.

www.florianhirschhuber.eu is my website.

I was a little bit confused as the telefone number box is a little bit shifted upwards in the mobile version of the site. It not perfectly alligned with the other box (email adress box) . But this is also on the demo version of the site.

3) I read all the custom code here

http://www.shape5.com/demo/eventfull/business/index.php/tutorials-menu-48/custom-code-for-this-design

I managed to change the date, the sponsors and the logo in the left corner. I go into modules an select it (custom code) where I can make the changes.

But I'm looking for the top area.

This code here

Code:
<a href="#s5_top_row3_area1" class="readon">Register Now</a> <a class="readon nostyle s5mb" title="Firebug Tutorial Video" id="youtube" href="http://www.youtube.com/v/4kmZ9uQcA_c" rel="width:800,height:447">Watch <span class="ion-ios-play sized"></span></a> </span>

"s5_top_row3_area1" this is the link I want to replace with "s5_bottom_row3_area1" so that it scrolls down to the contact form.

I don't know where to find it?

4) I also don't find the custom code for the large "Bike Race" title?

5) In the "What" area (I found this custom code) there is this code

Code:
<a class="btn" href="#">View Gallery</a>

where "#" is the link location, right?

So I create a new page with fotos an the set the link inside it.

thank you

2. Try adding the below this should fix it:

#s5_qc_emailbox {margin-top:0px !important;}

3. This is located in the s5 image and content fader module

4. This is also located in same location as #3

5. Yes correct

Thanks Jonah for you reply and your patience Smiley

2)

Code:
2. Try adding the below this should fix it:

#s5_qc_emailbox {margin-top:0px !important;}

But where do I have to edit this? Directly in the template.css file? Because I haven?t found the right file.

I tried with firebug and there I can make changes to the website and can see the actual result. I found out that the "Enter the Code" has a different width than the other bars. So I changed the width there to make it fit but to make it permanent I have to find the right file to edit.

3) Another issue appears when I change the text in the Image and Content Fader

I read the guide for responsive design and everything seems to be configured as supposed. But when I change the Image Title 1 "Bike Race" to a single word with 7 or 8 letters eg "Welcome" the down scaling on mobile phones seems not to work very well.

And when I use shorter words in the Image Text 1 then only the half of the play button appears on the screen.

It's very strange

Thanks a lot

2) You can add this to any CSS file but we recommend the custom.css file in your /css folder of the Eventfull template.

3) This is more custom coding side of things but I will help you. Just need to add the following to the bottom of your responsive.css file:

Code:
@media screen and (max-width: 345px){

.jdGallery .slideInfoZone h2 {
    font-size: 1.6em !important;}

}
