Hello,

How can I display the featured article on its own page instead of display in the component when I click on its title?

Thank you.

Hello,

All articles will take on the layout of the parent page unless you have a menu item that overrides the layout. You would need to create a new menu item that points to either the article itself or the category. You can publish that menu to something like bottom_menu. On this new menu item don't publish any modules, and the full article will take on the layout of that new menu item's layout.

All the articles display in the component area are assigned to 'news and announcements' and are marked featured articles.

I don't really know how to do what you are saying. Could you show me in detail.

Thank you.

Hello,

I don't have a tutorial to show you how to do this step by step, the steps are all listed out above. You need to create a menu item that points to the category that your articles are published to. Without doing that Joomla doesn't have a page assignment for your articles so it just takes on the homepage layout. On that new menu item don't publish any modules to it, by doing that Joomla now has a menu item's page layout to work with.
