Hello! When you click the Login button provided with the theme, you are presented an S5 BOX ? LOGIN box with a message stating, "Publish a login form or anything you want to this position." I would like to allow user comments on blog posts. I have selected the Allow people to post comments on new articles box in the Discussion Settings. How do we present users the option to register for an account on the blog, comment and login? Does it require to install a login form plugin to populate the S5 Box Login? Thank you! - Trey

Currently, yes, you'll need to find a simple login/registration widget plugin if that's the way you want to run your comments.  I personally recommend using Disqus for your comments, as it is an excellent system and allows users to log in with a Disqus account, rather than having to create a site-specific account; which means more people are likely to comment because it will be less effort to use an account that a lot of them already have.

I'm glad I was able to help.  Hopefully Disqus will give you the results you are looking for.

Thank you for the recommendation! I joined Disqus, configured an account and installed the plugin on the site. What to do with the Login button included with the theme? Do I configure a Disqus form in the S5 box? Or is there a way to hide the Login button, if not used? Do you know how to configure the Disqus comments section below blog posts? The plugin is configured to use Disqus comments below all blog posts. Should there be a comment button and area to login below each post now? Does that require the Disqus SSO API? Does Disqus work like the traditional WordPress comment box below a post? Confused..Thank you! - Trey

The Disqus comment section will show below any post that has comments enabled, and when someone wants to comment, they will be given the option to log in right from the comments box; no need for any other login option anywhere else.  (You can see an example of what Disqus looks like Here .)

The Login and Register buttons can be disabled by removing the sample widgets from the corresponding widget positions and removing the button text at the bottom of the "General" tab in the theme options.

Hopefully that answers the questions, but if I missed something, feel free to ask again.

Thank you! The Disqus example provided is what I was expecting. Hmm.. no comments section below blog posts on the AgriSmart blog. Ha, I must be doing something wrong. I will keep digging and ask their support if necessary. Thank you again for the recommendation: Disqus looks slick!

You may need to globally enable the comment section on the "Content Area" tab of the theme options.

Good call! 'Would You Like To Hide The Comment Area?' is set to No. I changed it to Yes, saved, then switched back to No, saved and tested again: no go. The settings all look pretty straight forward, however I still maybe missing something.

You may also need to check the "Settings->Discussion" admin page.  The settings for the demos (which by necessity are in the shaper as well) are very restrictive, including a setting that disables the comments on any post more than 1 day old.  If the comments are auto-disabled already, then the Disqus comments most likely won't show.

If the setting is changed to 0, does that turn off the time restriction or disable comments altogether? Comment settings screenshot attached. Any possible issues with those settings? My apologies for my beginner WordPress questions. Thank you for your patience!

I believe setting that option to 0 probably makes it unlimited; the rest of the options probably don't matter when you have Disqus managing the comments.

Hello,

Comments needed to be enabled in Yoast SEO for each blog post --> Disqus working now, thank you!

So, I deleted the widgets published to 'S5 Box - Login' and 'S5 Box - Register' positions, however the login button is still visible in the upper right next to search. How do you remove the Login button from displaying altogether? Thank you! - Trey

If removing the widgets from the positions isn't disabling the buttons, you can also remove the text for the buttons from the bottom of the "general" tab of the theme options.
