I have started using the Magnum Opus template on my site, but the login module is not compatible with community builder.

The site we use requires that the users get admin approval to make sure they are part of the organization. But the problem is coming in that it is allowing the users in with out approval, ie. bypassing the com_profiler

what changes are required in the module to make it run though community builder?

Hi, the module is just a modified version of the default Joomla login module and has all the same features it would have. If community builder is using a different module then you need to customize that module or publish it to another position; maybe on the column.

Find the script and replace the mod_s5_horizontal_login_MO to :

<?php if ( $registration_enabled ) { ?><a style="font-size:11px;" href="<?php echo sefRelToAbs( 'index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=registers' ); ?>">Register[/url]<?php }?>

its will be work with CB.

Nice implementation by 'komang'! You click on "Register" in the 'horizontal' and is guided straight to the CB register module. Good work.

I only hope you both been reading all the requirements for CB thoroughly. I've been trying to package the Magnum Opus template, VM (VirtueMart) and CB toghter on the same site, for some time. The hickup is that whilst VM needs additional info about the presumptive buyer, CB has their way to register users. (No blame on the template.)  Smiley

Actually the first step to take when implementing CB is to totally rip out the original Joomla login module and replace it with CB, second you need to coordinate already existing users in Joomla with the newly installed tables inserted by CB. Third you cancel all standard Joomla User management from backend and only use CB.

CB has many advantages in creating a grand community, but to my opinon they've done very little to consider coexistence with other part of the CMS project. I mean if you already have database tables working with user handling, why create the wheel all over and replace it with your own proprietary solution? Why not build on that?

Of course you can twist your site around to run CB in conjunction with whatever you want to throw into the mix.
But to me it seems that the CB idea, is that it wants to run alone and thereby setting up a very good looking social network. he CB user society tries to help out though, making their own fixes and bridges. There is for example a bridge to VM. But it's only for Joomla 1.0 and made by a single user.

For small to medium sites (private or corporate), personally I would recommend using Fireboard instead. It is installed as a normal extension into Joomla. It utilises all Joomla functions and it plays "nicely" with all the other little kiddie modules you throw into Joomla 1.5. (Including VM). And it's fairly simple when it comes to tweaking layout, colour and so forth.

I hate to be dense, but I'll do it anyway.

komang (all) - is the script you're referring to the s5_horizontal_login_MO php file or some other?  Additionally, once in the script (if it is the php file above) do you insert in the same statement between the single quotes, on a new line, etc...

I'm interested in doing the same thing ciber/akerman wanted to do (just not as skilled).

Thanks!

Well, I dunno if I got lucky or what, but everything (save a register option on the horizontal bar) appears to be working without any mods.
Once the global config for J! is set to not login/register and CB is setup to do so, the login_MO bit inherits the login job and it works for me...  I don't know how hard it would be to put a conditional register if not login / icon "thingy" & then remove once the user is logged in.

Anywho - I seem to be OK - cheers!
