Now if find the page in not showing correctly , see template1 image attached. When I use firebug I find there is no css at on the page see template2 image. It is not possible to get to any setting because of this.

I have restored the last back up with not differance.

How do get the css back?

Thanks for your help

Hello,

What version of Joomla are you using? Is this a new installation of Joomla or did you install with a site shaper? Are there any third party extensions installed?

Hello,

What version of Joomla are you using? Is this a new installation of Joomla or did you install with a site shaper? Are there any third party extensions installed?

Joomla3.6.2      I have attached full sys details screen shot

Not a new install but reinstalled a backup because after uninstalling virtuemart the backend didn't work. I did not realize you have to uninstall the module before the component. I unstall all at once. I have been using the site for over year and have moved to Hikashop and have not been back to the template setting for months so It is a bit hard to find out what I may have done that cause the issue.

Yes I have a number of 3rd party extensions including k2, and others I have checked for any enabled extension I don't use and disabling any I found. No differance.

I have an error

*Parsing errors in language files**

    JROOT/administrator/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_creativecontactform.sys.ini : error(s) in line(s) 1, 2, 3, 4

Interestingl lines 1,2,3,4, are commented out and just the header for the file HuhHuhHuh

I have tried disabling the creative module and plug in and unpublishing the form to no avail.

Was not installed with shaper.

I would first suggest installing the site shaper into a sub folder on your site as  just a test. If it works correctly there then we know something is interfering with your installation, if it does not then there is a configuration issue on the server itself. That will at least help start isolating the issue.

Regarding any errors with language files, I am not familiar with that extension. You would need to contact that extension's developer about that error.

Hello,

It would either be something that is wrong with your installation, like something corrupted, or there is a third party extension that is interfering. You would need to disable all third party extensions to determine which is causing the problems, just disabling the ones you don't need won't debug this.

I disabled all my 3rd party plugins and got white screen so I restored my latest backup which has the same template issue I am posting aboout. I forgot I did restore the same backup and think it my have been corrupted. I will restore a  previous back up and redo some changes I made when I get back to it in a day or so.  It sounds like a long protracted process to get to find the issue, unless you thing it can be solved without exessive extra work.

Thank you

1/ I have reinstalled joomla backups as far as I can, not differance.

2/ I didn't mention before that when I originally istalled your template I made a duplicate to use, but original has the same problem. Also there is another template called  shape5_vertex - Default  which has the same problem. All other template are fine including Beez3

3/ Can I just reinstall only the Design Control  Template but still keep all my settings (took me a long time set up with mods)?  I tried to make a duplicate to run the site on while  I played with the original but it seems I have to delate all template and start again to get it to install.

4/ Were does the backend get it's menus etc. Is there particular files / folder that can be taken from the unziped install zip that could be replaced?

5/ Just found that my fround end menu float and colour of menu and links have changed to default.

5/ I have a very old version still on my local server XAMP but it is only half done. Can I salvage template files from it?

Not sure where to go from here?

Thanks so much for your continued help

Hello,

You can try uninstalling the template and reinstalling it, but you most likely have a corrupted installation of Joomla. That's not something we will be able to fix for you. Regarding any customizations you have made, those all should be in custom.css so you would just need to make a backup of that file. If you've made other modifications to the template that is something you would need to have record of.

Before you go through that, you can try installing our Forte template to see if the backend loads on that template. It's built on the same framework and backend files. If it doesn't there is definitely something corrupted with your Joomla install or something else interfering.

I tried to install Forte, but comes up with error saying unable to find install file

Also noticed that I have 114 parts to my akeeba back up where it used to around 64. It seems to have combined two backup.

Hello,

If the template is not installing you either have permissions problems on the server or your installation is that corrupted. I can't give you advice on the Akeeba backup, if combined two backups somehow you definitely have a corrupted installation; that is not something that I can debug or fix for you. I would recommend contacting your hosting provider to see if they have a backup on the server from before the problems occurred.

My server x10 premium has automatic backup using a 3rd party. I restored back to the earliest one the begining of Aug but still has problems so the issue has been their for some time but I had not been to the template back end for some time to find it so it may have originated a few months ago.

I have uploaded your Design Control Shaper onto a subdirectory I created on my server but now when I put the details into the configuration boxes and press next I get error message "Field required: Password" etc. Whatever I put in the input boxes are just not being seen by the installer.  I cannot find anything like it in Google searches and searches of your forum.

If I can get it to install can I use the same data base to preserve the content and set it up again using the setting and mods on my present live site (still fine with everything else)? I though I might do that and when it is all back OK, do a backup with Akeeba, delete the present site on my public_html directory, and restore the backup.  Making sure I had another backup of what I deleted.

I cannot believe how many issues are coming up!

Hello,

All the issues you are pointing to are issues related to your server. We have no other issues reporting issues like this, especially the issues you mentioned about the new install. If you can private message me the following about the new installation I can see if I can find out what the problem is, because guess is probably permissions issues on the server itself.

cpanel access
sql username and password
database name
url to test installation
ftp login
