My site uses Shape 5 Lime Light. Initially, the menu item "Shape 5 Theme" appeared above "Shape 5 Plugins." However, the "Shape 5 Theme" is no longer part of the WordPress admin menu. From other sites, I constructed the URL that is executed as a result of clicking "Shape 5 Theme:" http://oltlaserusa.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=s5-theme-options

The response is always: Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.

Please tell me how to re-enable the missing menu item. And thank you for your efforts.

It is highly likely that the problem is being caused by a third party plugin you have installed; I recommend disabling any plugins that you have installed recently to see which one is causing the problem.

As you are asking for support on a members-only theme and your account has never had a paid membership, I cannot provide additional support without proof that the theme was originally installed by someone with a paid membership, and I will be moving this thread to the correct members-only board later today.

Now a paid member.

Thank you for your quick response. I have disabled each plugin, in turn, until all plugins were disabled. Admin logout/login followed each disable. During the disable process, "Shape 5 Theme" did not show up. During re-activation, one plug-in at a time, "Shape 5 Theme" did not re-appear. Thoughts??

The next thing I would recommend trying is to install the Vertex Upgrade Patch.

===============
To install the patch:

1. Download the Vertex Upgrade Patch.
2. Back up your site (just in case).
3. Copy the vertex/footer.php from the theme folder to somewhere safe (you'll be putting it back after patching).
4. Delete the vertex folder from the theme (nothing else, that is the only thing to delete).
5. Extract the zip file containing the patch, and upload it to the theme folder through FTP, choosing "overwrite" if/when prompted.
6. Copy the footer.php file (from step 3) back into the vertex folder of the theme.

That's it.

Or, to put it a different way:
1. Back up vertex/footer.php.
2. Delete the vertex folder, then upload the extracted patch to the theme folder.
3. Put the footer.php file back into the vertex folder of the theme.

I have performed the update but there is no joy. I did a login after using FTP to update files.

The "Shape 5 Theme" menu did not appear.

Thoughts

If the patch didn't fix it, I'm not sure what else it could be.  Would you be able to send me a PM through the forum with FTP access and WP login details so I can take a look at the code and see what's happening?
