I am new to Shape 5 templates and Vertex.
I purchased a membership specifically to download the Luxon Hotel template.
I asked a pre-sales question regarding multilingual sites and I was told to watch this video tutorial regarding multilingual sites and Vertex:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ka8B4ZnFvk

The tutorial is fine up until minute 5:13, when the backend interface becomes completely different from what I get in the Luxon template backend.

Do I have to duplicate the template for every language?
In the video @ 5:59 it is said that the language switcher "detects" 2 languages and displays the flags accordingly.

I have followed the steps outlined in the video, but after loading the front end I keep getting the default demo page. I have to manually add the /es/ suffix ( spanish ) to the URL in order to get the spanish menu. But no flags are being displayed.

Is there an actual step by step tutorial for multilingual sites using this template or the most current version of vertex?

Thank you.

Hello,

The template itself and Vertex have no control over the language of the site, so the tutorial is still valid since this is all controlled through Joomla. The flags will only display if you publish the language module to a position on the page and then when you select the flag it will automatically change the site url/language. You do not need multiple copies of the template, only one, but you do need a copy of each module for every language that you have.

There are other Youtube videos that explain this process as well, if one of them helps explain the setup in a different way. Here is one:

I?m trying to publish the language switch module ( flags ) on the same position where the main menu, search and location modules are. Can?t seem to find how / where to do that.

thank you.

Hello,

The only position in that area is custom_1, next to the logo. You can try publishing it there, but it wasn't designed for the language module.
